What is the format of the COBIT 5 Foundation exam?

The COBIT 5 Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the COBIT 5 Foundation Exam Syllabus (2020 version). It is delivered by PeopleCert via OnVUE online proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 50 questions and lasts 40 minutes. It is a closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice paper covering the COBIT 5 principles, enablers, process reference model and goals cascade.

What is the passing score for COBIT 5 Foundation?

The passing score is 50%, so you need at least 25 of the 50 questions correct. There is no need to master every detail, but broad understanding across all five syllabus areas is the best approach.

Are there prerequisites to sit the exam?

No. COBIT 5 Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of education, experience or prior IT governance knowledge. Attending a training course is recommended to prepare effectively.
