What Is Driving Demand for IT Governance Assessors in Guyana

    Governance Maturity Gap

Guyana's banks and energy operators are scaling IT fast, but many lack a structured way to measure how well IT is governed. The COBIT 5 PAM is built to close exactly that gap.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds capability assessment skills

    Digital Transformation Pressure

The national digital programme and the ICT Masterplan 2030 are modernising public services, and leaders need evidence-based assessments to prove and improve governance capability.

Assessors measure and guide governance maturity

    Regulatory and Assurance Demand

As BFSI compliance expectations rise, organisations need traceable, ISO/IEC 15504-aligned assessments to demonstrate internal control effectiveness to auditors and regulators.

    Certified assessors strengthen compliance evidence

    ICT Talent Scarcity

Guyana faces a shortage of skilled ICT and governance professionals. Formal assessor competence and the advanced credential make holders rare and sought-after in the market.

The Assessor credential makes holders stand out

    Oil-Boom Complexity

Rapid enterprise growth is outpacing IT governance controls. Structured capability assessment helps leaders prioritise where to strengthen governance across a widening estate.

PAM brings order to fast-growing IT estates

    Fragmented Assessment Practice

Subjective, inconsistent maturity reviews are hard to defend. The COBIT 5 PAM gives assessors a single model, consistent ratings and a clear evidence trail across the business.

The PAM standardises ratings and evidence

Skills covered in COBIT 5 Assessor training run from planning an assessment to reporting its results. Applying the COBIT 5 PAM

    Managing Evidence and Traceability

Record and categorise evidence with full traceability to base practices and generic practices, maintaining the integrity and audit trail the PAM requires for defensible ratings.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing examination based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and the COBIT 5 PAM. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

How many questions are in the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. You have 2 and a half hours, or 150 minutes, to complete it. All 8 questions are scored, so every question counts toward your result.

What is the passing score for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The pass mark is 50 per cent. You need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available to pass. Because the questions require specialist analysis, broad mastery of the PAM and rating rules matters more than memorising single facts.

What materials can I use in the open-book exam?

Only two references are permitted: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are allowed, so efficient navigation of both documents is a key exam skill the training builds.

How and where do I take the exam?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either through OnVUE online proctoring, available around the clock from home or office, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. You choose whichever suits you when you book.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can resit the exam under PeopleCert's re-sit policy, and our trainers provide guidance and practice to help you clear it. We confirm the current re-sit terms and any fees when you register. Ask an advisor for details.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model, so what you study matches what the current PeopleCert exam assesses.
