    What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

    It is an open-book, objective examination. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted. Questions are scenario-based and test assessment at application and analysis level.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. You have two and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it.

    What is the passing score for COBIT 5 Assessor?

    The pass mark is 50 per cent. You must achieve 40 marks or more out of the 80 available to pass.

    Which materials are permitted in the open-book exam?

    Only two references are allowed: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are permitted, so efficient navigation of these documents is a key exam skill the course builds.

    How and where do I take the exam?

    The exam is delivered via PeopleCert, either through OnVUE online proctoring available around the clock or at an authorised test centre. You can sit it from home or office in Greece with secure remote proctoring.

    Which syllabus is the exam based on?

    The exam is based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version), aligned to the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model and ISO/IEC 15504. The course maps directly to this current syllabus.

    What topics does the training cover?

    The course covers all five Assessor topic areas: an overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the Process Assessment Model, capability levels and attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting.

    What will I learn about the PAM?

    You learn the two dimensions of the Process Assessment Model, the 37 COBIT 5 processes, Base Practices and Work Products, and the Generic Practices behind higher capability levels, then build and compare process profiles against target states.

    Does it cover capability levels and the rating scale?

    Yes. You apply the six capability levels from Incomplete to Optimising, the nine process attributes, and the four-point rating scale of Not, Partially, Largely and Fully Achieved, with worked examples of deriving a capability level from evidence.

    Are mock exams and case studies included?

    Yes. The programme includes industry case studies that walk through assessment planning, evidence gathering, rating and reporting, plus practice questions and mock exams aligned to the 8-question, open-book format.

    How long is the COBIT 5 Assessor training?

    The programme runs for 16 hours, delivered either as two full days or four half-days depending on the schedule. It covers all five topic areas at application and analysis level.
