Governance Challenges Fuelling COBIT 5 Demand in Algeria

    Rising Cybersecurity Mandates

Algeria's National Cybersecurity Strategy 2025-2029 requires dedicated governance and security units across public institutions, and few professionals can stand up and run such programmes.

COBIT 5-I builds governance implementation skill

    Banking Sector Modernisation

Banking Law 23-09 strengthens supervision as banks digitise services. Governance maturity is now a supervisory expectation, and COBIT 5 gives banks a structured way to reach it.

COBIT 5-I builds business-case and lifecycle skill

    Critical Energy Infrastructure

Energy operators run vast OT and IT estates where weak governance carries national risk, demanding portfolio-grade prioritisation, risk aggregation and cross-programme control.

COBIT 5-I builds risk and coordination skill

    Telecom and 5G Complexity

A 5G rollout across three operators multiplies IT change and dependency. Operators need governed roadmaps, change enablement and continuous improvement to keep pace safely.

COBIT 5-I builds programme management skill

    Governance Talent Scarcity

Algeria has a deep pool of project managers but few certified governance implementers. The intermediate credential and Foundation prerequisite make holders rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5-I makes certified leaders stand out

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Digital Algeria 2030 approves 500-plus projects, but weak links between strategy and the funded work leak value, the exact gap the COBIT 5 implementation approach is built to close.

COBIT 5-I builds prioritisation and value skill

COBIT 5 Implementation is more than a credential. It equips you to lead the governance improvement Algerian organisations now need. Join professionals turning strategy into governed, well-run IT. Start your journey today.

    Your Algeria Career Transformation

    Where You Stand Today,

And Where COBIT 5 Implementation Takes You

Algeria's IT market is expanding with digital transformation, new cybersecurity mandates and 5G investment, and employers increasingly separate certified governance leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Salary capped with limited leverage to negotiate in the local market

    After COBIT 5-I

Senior IT governance and risk roles in Algeria command bands well above DA 3.5M, with director pay reaching much higher

    Today

Shortlisted less often for roles that list COBIT or governance experience as preferred

    After COBIT 5-I

Eligible for governance leadership across energy, banking, telecoms and consulting

    Today

Strong on delivery, but employers want proven governance capability

    After COBIT 5-I

Fluent in linking IT to strategy and governing improvement at enterprise scale

    You earn COBIT 5 Implementation

    Before

Framework awareness from Foundation, but no proof you can implement it

    Now you have

A globally recognised COBIT 5 credential that proves you can lead governance improvement

    Before

Stuck at project delivery with no formal governance mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into IT governance manager, GRC lead and CIO-track roles

    Before

Confident in delivery, but limited command of governance improvement

    Now you have

The skills employers want: the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement and benefits tracking

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change employer or sector

    Now you have

A credential that travels across energy, banking, telecoms and the public sector

"The gap between running projects and governing IT is increasingly a recognised credential, and the organisations that matter in Algeria already know it."

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing exam based on the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version). Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted. Questions require scenario-based analysis, not just look-up.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total, and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is delivered online proctored via PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorised test centre.

    What is the passing score?

The pass mark is 50 percent, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Broad, applied command of all four topic areas matters more than memorising any single section.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert. Our trainers provide first-attempt guidance and scenario practice to reduce that risk, and we can help you plan a re-sit if needed. Verify the current re-sit policy with PeopleCert before booking.

How is this exam different from COBIT 5 Foundation?

Foundation is a closed-book exam testing framework knowledge at awareness level. Implementation is open book and tests your ability to apply the lifecycle, change enablement and programme management to realistic governance scenarios. Foundation is the prerequisite for Implementation.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation course cover?

The course covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all at application level and aligned to the 2022 syllabus.

Do I need prior experience or just COBIT 5 Foundation?

COBIT 5 Foundation is the formal prerequisite. There is no mandatory work-experience requirement, though the Implementation level is designed for practitioners who lead or support governance improvement, and the training assumes your Foundation knowledge.

What are the seven phases of the implementation lifecycle?

Phase 1 what are the drivers, Phase 2 where are we now, Phase 3 where do we want to be, Phase 4 what needs to be done, Phase 5 how do we get there, Phase 6 did we get there, and Phase 7 how do we keep the momentum going. It runs as a continuous cycle.

How long is the training and what materials are provided?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically over two days. You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, industry case studies, mock questions and reference guidance on navigating the two permitted open-book texts.

Is the course based on the current syllabus?

Yes. The course is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version), built on the COBIT 5 framework, and references the COBIT 5 Implementation book and COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide.
