What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing paper of 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

How long is the exam and what is the pass mark?

You have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete the exam. The pass mark is 50%, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available.

What are the prerequisites for the Assessor exam?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required before you sit the Assessor exam. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, and both Foundation and Implementation knowledge is assumed throughout the Assessor course.

How and where do I take the exam?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either through OnVUE online proctoring available 24/7 or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. You can sit it from your home or office in Algeria via secure remote proctoring.

What standard is the exam based on?

It is based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model, which is aligned to ISO/IEC 15504 (SPICE). The exam tests application and analysis, not just recall.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the COBIT 5 Assessor course?

You will learn to apply the COBIT 5 PAM, rate the six capability levels using the nine process attributes and the four-point scale, gather and trace evidence, plan and run assessments, and produce PAM-compliant reports.

What are the six COBIT 5 capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each level is assessed through process attributes and the four-point rating scale.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model?

The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 processes. It has two dimensions: the process dimension (the 37 COBIT 5 processes) and the capability dimension (six levels from 0 to 5).

How long is the training and how is it delivered?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically as a two-day intensive or across four half-days. It is delivered live virtual, in the classroom, or as customised corporate training for teams.
