    General

What is the EXIN VeriSM Foundation certification?

EXIN VeriSM Foundation is an entry-level certification that validates your understanding of VeriSM, a service management approach for the digital age. Governed by EXIN, it covers the VeriSM model, the management mesh and how organisations define their own flexible service management approach. It is the first level in the EXIN VeriSM scheme.

What is VeriSM and how does it differ from ITIL?

VeriSM is a framework-agnostic service management approach, while ITIL is a prescriptive framework. VeriSM positions ITIL as one of many practices you can combine within the management mesh, alongside Agile, DevOps, Lean and SIAM. The two are complementary, and VeriSM shows how ITIL fits a broader, context-driven approach.

Who should take VeriSM Foundation training in Germany?

VeriSM Foundation suits IT and business professionals who want to understand modern, digital service management. It fits service desk staff, service managers, consultants, ITIL holders seeking a broader view, and business professionals in service-oriented organisations. There are no formal prerequisites, so it is open to all.

Is the VeriSM Foundation certification recognised internationally?

Yes. EXIN is an internationally recognised examination body operating in over 165 countries. VeriSM Foundation is valued by employers worldwide, particularly organisations undergoing digital transformation or using several service management frameworks, making it a strong, portable credential across Germany and beyond.

Is VeriSM Foundation worth it for my career?

Yes. VeriSM Foundation signals that you can lead modern, flexible service management, a scarce skill as German employers unify frameworks amid a deep IT talent shortage. It supports roles from service analyst to IT service manager, where salaries commonly reach 72,500 euros and beyond. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

How long is the VeriSM Foundation certification valid?

VeriSM Foundation certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed the EXIN exam.
