It is designed for professionals who already hold ITIL 4 Foundation and want the current credential, including ITSM analysts, service desk and operations leads, consultants and trainers. If you do not hold ITIL 4 Foundation, the full ITIL 5 Foundation course is the right starting point.

Is the ITIL 5 Foundation Bridge worth it in China?

Yes. As Chinese employers across IT services, cloud, telecom and BFSI modernise delivery, many job specs now ask for the latest ITIL version. Holding the current credential keeps you competitive for service management roles that average around CNY 288,709 a year, with an ITIL pay premium reported near 22 percent.

What credential do I get after passing the bridge?

You receive the ITIL 5 Foundation credential, the same outcome as sitting and passing the full ITIL 5 Foundation exam. It also enables progression to higher ITIL 5 qualifications.

How long is the ITIL 5 Foundation credential valid?

The credential is valid for three years. You renew it by earning 60 CPD points within the three-year cycle through the PeopleCert MyAxelos programme, or by passing a higher ITIL 5 qualification.

What is the format of the ITIL 5 Foundation Bridge exam?

The exam is closed book with 20 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 30 minutes. It tests only the new and changed content in ITIL 5 relative to ITIL 4, across five topic areas.

What is the passing score for the bridge exam?

The passing score is 65 percent, which means answering 13 of the 20 questions correctly. Focus on broad understanding of the ITIL 5 enhancements across all five topic areas.

Do I need ITIL 4 Foundation to take the bridge exam?

Yes. ITIL 4 Foundation is a prerequisite for the bridge, because it assumes that knowledge as a baseline. Candidates without ITIL 4 Foundation should take the full ITIL 5 Foundation exam instead.

How is the bridge exam delivered?

You can sit the exam online through the PeopleCert OnVUE online proctored system, available around the clock, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Both options test the same content.
