What Is the COBIT 5 Assessor Certification?UntitledThe Highest Level of the COBIT 5 Scheme

COBIT 5 Assessor certification training in China prepares IT governance and audit professionals to plan, conduct, rate and report formal COBIT 5 process capability assessments. The COBIT 5 Assessor (COBIT 5-A) credential is the advanced, specialist qualification and the highest level of the COBIT 5 scheme, building on COBIT 5 Foundation and Implementation to assess process capability using the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM). Delivered against the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and aligned to ISO/IEC 15504, the programme teaches you to apply the six capability levels, the nine process attributes and the four-point rating scale with evidence and professional judgement. The assessor examination is delivered by PeopleCert as a 2.5-hour open-book paper of eight questions, each worth 10 marks, using the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. For governance, risk and IT audit professionals across China, where the amended Cybersecurity Law and the multi-level protection scheme are raising the bar for demonstrable IT governance, an internationally recognised assessment credential is a strong career asset. Train with Invensis Learning and move from Foundation to certified assessor with a clear, supported path.

IT Governance Pressures Driving Assessor Demand in China

    Rising Regulatory Compliance Burden

China's amended Cybersecurity Law took effect in 2026 with fines up to CNY 50 million, pushing enterprises to prove IT governance capability through structured, defensible assessment rather than informal review.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds formal assessment skills

    Multi-Level Protection Scheme Demands

MLPS filing and assessment obligations now cover systems classified at level two and above, creating steady demand for professionals who can assess and evidence process capability at scale.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds capability rating skills

    AI Governance Now in Scope

For the first time the Cybersecurity Law addresses AI ethics and safety oversight, widening the governance estate that assessors must review and stretching thin in-house assurance capacity.

IT Governance Maturity Gap in SOEs
