    Does the training cover Scrum and Kanban?

    Is a Jira software licence included in the fee?

    Assessment

    Is there an exam for the Jira training?

    No. This is a practical, non-certification course with no exam at either level. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout the programme, so you build proficiency by doing rather than by testing.

    Do I get a certificate after the Jira course?

    Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning on completing each level. This records the skills you have built. It is a completion certificate from the training provider, not a formal external certification.

    Do I need any prior experience to join?

    Fundamentals has no prerequisites and is designed for people new to Jira, though basic Agile awareness helps. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

    How is my learning assessed during the course?

    Learning is assessed informally through hands-on exercises, configuration tasks and knowledge checks rather than a formal exam. You apply each feature to realistic delivery scenarios, so you can see your progress as you build working boards, workflows and reports.

    Do I need my own Jira access for the training?

    You should have access to a Jira environment during the training. Atlassian offers a free Jira Cloud trial and free tier for practice. Check with us whether a shared training environment is provided or whether you set up your own Jira Cloud instance.

    Course Content

    What will I learn in the Jira Fundamentals level?

    Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating Scrum, Kanban and business projects, managing the issue hierarchy, running sprints and Kanban boards, planning roadmaps and versions, and building filters, basic JQL and Agile reports such as velocity and burndown.

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, DevOps integrations with Bitbucket and GitHub, and Jira administration and governance.

    Which Jira version does the course use?

    The training is delivered primarily on Jira Cloud, Atlassian's main hosted version, with reference to Jira Data Center where relevant. You work in a live Jira environment throughout so the skills transfer directly to your workplace.

    Is the course hands-on or theory based?

    It is strongly hands-on. The instructor demonstrates each feature and you follow along in a live Jira environment, applying it to realistic Agile delivery scenarios. You practise creating issues, running sprints, building workflows and writing JQL as you go.

    How long is each level of the training?

    Fundamentals runs over 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended half-day formats. You can attend either level on its own or complete both in sequence.

    How do I enrol in the Jira course?

    You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your level and preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. A learning advisor can help you pick the right level.

    What training formats are available?
