Azure DevOps has a free tier for up to five users at dev.azure.com, and Azure resources used in exercises may incur usage charges. You can use your own Azure account, or ask us whether a shared training environment is provided.

Assessment

How is learning assessed on this course?

There is no formal test. This is a practical skills course, so learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure exercises across the day, letting you practise each Azure DevOps service as you go.

Do I receive anything on completing the training?

Yes. You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the 1-day programme, recognising that you completed the training.

Is this a formal credential programme?

No. It is a practical skills course focused on real Azure DevOps capability rather than a formal credential. You leave able to build and run pipelines, define infrastructure as code and monitor services on Microsoft Azure.

Will I be able to apply these skills at work straight away?

Yes. The skills are immediately usable. By the end you can create repositories with branch policies, write and run CI/CD pipelines, deploy to Azure App Service or AKS, and set up Azure Monitor alerts on real projects.

What hands-on practice is included?

You build an Azure Repos repository with branch policies, write a YAML CI pipeline with build, test and artifact publishing, add a deployment stage, deploy a Bicep template from a pipeline, and set up Azure Monitor alerts and a Key Vault-linked variable group.

Course Content

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

The course covers DevOps principles and the Azure DevOps ecosystem, source control and CI, continuous delivery with multi-stage pipelines, agile planning and infrastructure as code, containers and monitoring with AKS and Azure Monitor, and DevSecOps.

Which Azure DevOps services will I learn?

You work with the five Azure DevOps services: Azure Repos for source control, Azure Pipelines for CI/CD, Azure Boards for agile planning, Azure Artifacts for package management and Azure Test Plans for test management.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code?

Yes. You learn infrastructure as code using ARM templates and Bicep, including deployment modes and modules, and how to deploy that infrastructure straight from Azure Pipelines instead of configuring it by hand.

Is Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) included?

Yes. You build Docker images, store them in Azure Container Registry, and deploy containerised applications to Azure Kubernetes Service using kubectl, Helm and Azure Pipelines, including image promotion from ACR to AKS.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The course has no formal prerequisites and introduces every Azure DevOps service from a practitioner perspective. Basic development or operations awareness helps, but is not required to follow the hands-on exercises.
