COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) is the intermediate-level qualification that validates your ability to plan and lead a COBIT 5-based governance improvement programme. COBIT 5 Implementation certification training in Bermuda prepares IT governance professionals to apply the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement in a real organisational context. The certification builds on COBIT 5 Foundation and follows the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version), with the exam offered by PeopleCert as an open-book, scenario-based paper. You learn to translate business, risk and compliance drivers into a governance roadmap that boards and regulators trust. For professionals on the island this matters now. Bermuda's insurers, reinsurers, banks and public bodies operate under the Bermuda Monetary Authority's cyber risk expectations, the Cybersecurity Act 2024 and PIPA, so leaders who can embed IT governance are in demand. Start your COBIT 5 journey with Invensis Learning and move from framework awareness to hands-on governance leadership.

    General

What is COBIT 5 Implementation certification?

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 approach to plan and manage a governance improvement programme, covering the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement.

Who should take COBIT 5 Implementation training in Bermuda?

It suits IT governance programme managers, GRC and compliance leads, consultants, IT directors and COBIT 5 Foundation holders who want to lead governance improvement. In Bermuda it fits insurance, banking, fintech and public-sector professionals working under BMA expectations.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it and recognised in Bermuda?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the credential is valued by Bermuda's insurers, banks and regulators for governance leadership and GRC roles. Certified professionals are well placed for senior governance and security manager positions.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Implementation?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. Candidates who do not hold Foundation must take and pass it before sitting the Implementation exam. There is no formal work-experience or education requirement, though the level suits practising governance professionals.

How does COBIT 5 Implementation differ from COBIT 5 Foundation?

Foundation is a closed-book paper that tests framework knowledge at awareness level. Implementation is an open-book, scenario-based exam that validates your ability to apply the lifecycle, change enablement and programme management. Foundation is the prerequisite for Implementation.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing paper based on the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version). Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted. Questions are scenario-based and require applied judgement.

How many questions are in the exam and how long is it?

What is the passing score for COBIT 5 Implementation?

You need 50 per cent to pass, which is 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Focus on applying the implementation lifecycle, change enablement and programme management across the four topic areas.

How is the exam delivered in Bermuda?

You can sit the exam via PeopleCert OnVUE online proctoring, available around the clock, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Online proctoring lets you take the exam from home or the office in Bermuda.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation training cover?

The programme covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement. It assumes COBIT 5 Foundation knowledge, which is not re-taught.

What are the seven phases of the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle?

They are: what are the drivers; where are we now; where do we want to be; what needs to be done; how do we get there; did we get there; and how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-off project.

What is the COBIT 5 change enablement cycle?

It is the five-part cycle that runs alongside the implementation lifecycle: awareness and communication, desire and willingness, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement. It recognises that governance improvement is as much a people and culture challenge as a technical one.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

You must hold COBIT 5 Foundation, which provides the assumed knowledge of the five principles, seven enablers and process reference model. Beyond that, the training supports practitioners through scenario-based application, so governance experience helps but is not mandated.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, practice questions and mock exams, plus guidance on navigating the COBIT 5 Implementation book and COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide for the open-book exam.
