What Is Kanban and How Does This Course Help?UntitledA Practical Guide to Pull and Flow

Kanban Training in Bulgaria is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you how to manage work with a visual, pull-based system that moves tasks only when there is real downstream demand. Kanban began on the Toyota Production System factory floor, where Taiichi Ohno used it to power Just-in-Time production, and was later adapted by David J. Anderson for software, IT and knowledge work. The course covers both sides of Kanban. You learn the manufacturing system of production and withdrawal signals, supermarkets and kanban sizing, and the agile approach of Kanban boards, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics. Professionals in Sofia, Plovdiv and Bulgaria's growing software and manufacturing hubs use these skills to reduce lead time, cut waste and deliver more predictably. Whether you run a production line, a supply chain or a delivery team, you leave able to design a Kanban system and improve flow straight away. Learn it with Invensis Learning and start applying it the next working day.

What Is Driving Demand for Kanban Skills in Bulgaria

    Scaling the Nearshore Delivery Base

Sofia's software and nearshore centres run many concurrent client streams. Without visible flow and WIP limits, teams overcommit and lead times slip, the exact gap Kanban is built to close.

Kanban builds flow and delivery skills

    Euro Adoption and New Investment

Bulgaria's move to the euro in January 2026 is attracting fresh investment and larger projects, raising the need for teams that can manage more complex workflows without losing pace.

    Kanban builds predictable delivery skills

    Automotive and Electronics Pull Demand

A growing base of automotive and electronics suppliers must run Just-in-Time replenishment between process steps and with customers, where kanban cards, supermarkets and sizing are essential.

    Kanban builds pull production skills

    Team Overload and Multitasking Waste

Knowledge-work teams are routinely given more work than they can finish, so context switching drains output. WIP limits are the direct remedy that Kanban brings to the problem.

    Kanban builds WIP-limit discipline

    Client Pressure for Predictability

Outsourcing and product clients expect reliable delivery dates. Lead time, throughput and Cumulative Flow Diagrams give teams a data-based way to forecast and commit with confidence.

    Kanban builds flow-metric skills

Lean Maturity Gap on the Shop Floor

Many Bulgarian plants still schedule by forecast, creating inventory pile-ups and overproduction. Designing a pull-based Kanban system closes that gap and caps inventory by design.

    After Kanban

Confident leading calmer teams that deliver on predictable lead times

    You master Kanban

    Before

Work hidden in inboxes and spreadsheets, with no shared view of flow

    Now you have

A clear, visual system that shows every task, queue and blocker at a glance

    Before

Too many tasks in progress at once and constant context switching

    Now you have

WIP limits that stop overload and help the team finish what it starts

    Before

Delivery dates based on hope rather than evidence

    Now you have

Flow metrics that let you forecast delivery from real throughput data

    Before

Push scheduling that builds up stock and hides quality problems

    Now you have

A pull-based approach that caps inventory and cuts overproduction by design

"The teams that pull ahead are the ones that make work visible, limit what is in progress, and let flow do the rest."

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work so that tasks move only when there is real downstream demand. This one-day training suits production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Scrum Masters, IT and delivery leads, and anyone who manages how work flows through a system.

    General

What is Kanban and who is this training for?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work so that tasks move only when there is real downstream demand. This one-day training suits production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Scrum Masters, IT and delivery leads, and anyone who manages how work flows through a system.

Is Kanban worth learning in Bulgaria?

Yes. Bulgaria's software, shared-services and manufacturing sectors are growing fast, and employers value people who can cut lead times and deliver predictably. Kanban skills apply directly to Sofia's nearshore teams and the country's automotive and electronics production base.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and agile Kanban?

Yes. The programme covers manufacturing Kanban, including production and withdrawal signals, supermarkets and kanban sizing, and agile Kanban, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban. Both come from the same pull-based idea first used on the Toyota Production System.

    Who created Kanban?

Manufacturing Kanban was developed by Taiichi Ohno at Toyota in the 1950s as a way to power Just-in-Time production. Kanban for knowledge and software work was later formalised by David J. Anderson, and this course teaches both traditions.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to design a pull-based Kanban system, build boards with WIP limits, calculate kanban quantities, measure lead time and throughput, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to drive improvement in manufacturing or agile settings.

    Pricing

How much does the Kanban course cost in Bulgaria?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, group size and whether you enrol as an individual or a team, and is quoted in euro following Bulgaria's euro adoption in January 2026. Contact us for current pricing or request a quote.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes trainer-led sessions, structured courseware, hands-on Kanban design exercises, practice activities and learner support, plus a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Ask a learning advisor for the full inclusions.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer tailored group pricing for teams, with customised schedules for production, supply chain or delivery groups. Contact us for a corporate quote for your organisation.

Which currency is used for payment in Bulgaria?

Since Bulgaria adopted the euro on 1 January 2026, pricing and payment are handled in euro. Speak with a learning advisor about the payment options available to you.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

Does this training lead to a formal qualification?

No. This is a practical, hands-on skills course, not a qualification or credential. It focuses on building Kanban knowledge and workplace skills you can apply immediately in manufacturing or agile environments.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning confirming that you have finished the programme. The real value is the practical flow-management skills you can put to work straight away.

How is my learning checked during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, worked examples and group discussion, so you practise the techniques on realistic scenarios throughout the day.

How long is the Kanban training programme?

The programme runs for one day, around eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers Kanban foundations, manufacturing pull systems, boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and implementation, with exercises throughout.

Do I need prior Lean or agile experience?

No prior experience is required. The course introduces every concept from first principles, so it works whether you come from a manufacturing, supply chain, IT or agile background.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the Kanban course?

The course covers Kanban origins and the push versus pull idea, manufacturing Kanban types and sizing, supermarkets, Kanban boards, WIP limits, flow metrics, the Cumulative Flow Diagram, Scrumban and how to implement and sustain Kanban over time.

What is a WIP limit and is it covered?

A work-in-progress limit caps how many items a workflow stage can hold at once, which surfaces bottlenecks and helps teams finish work rather than start more. Setting and managing WIP limits is a core, hands-on part of the course.

Does the course teach flow metrics and the CFD?

Yes. You learn to measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot where work is piling up and forecast delivery from real data.

Is Scrumban covered in the training?
