    What is the format of the EXIN ASM exam?

    The EXIN Agile Scrum Master exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice paper with single-answer questions. It can be taken online with proctoring or at an accredited test location.

    How many questions are on the ASM exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and a time limit of 90 minutes. It covers five topic areas, from the agile mindset through to adopting agile.

    What is the passing score for the ASM exam?

    You need 65% to pass, which is 26 of the 40 questions answered correctly. The questions test how you apply Scrum Master skills, not just recall.

    What topics does the exam cover?

    The exam covers five areas: Agile Way of Thinking (20%), Scrum Master Role (25%), Agile Estimating, Planning, Monitoring and Control (27.5%), Complex Projects (12.5%) and Adopting Agile (15%).

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    You can retake the EXIN exam by purchasing another voucher. Our trainers provide practice questions and exam-prep support to help you pass with confidence; ask about resit guidance when you enrol.

    Yes. While EXIN recommends Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge, the course is structured so newcomers to the Scrum Master role can follow it. Trainers cover core Scrum concepts before moving to facilitation and coaching.

    What will I learn in the ASM training?

    You will learn to facilitate Scrum events, coach the team and the Product Owner, remove impediments, apply agile estimation and planning, use the Definition of Done, and support agile adoption and scaling.

    How long is the training and what format is it?

    The programme runs about 16 hours, usually over two days, delivered live online or in the classroom. Self-paced and corporate group formats are also available.

    You receive EXIN-accredited courseware, practice questions, mock exams and reference materials aligned to the EXIN Agile Scrum Master Examination Specification.
