Industry Challenges Driving Risk Management Demand in Baku

    Energy Megaproject Risk Exposure

Baku's oil and gas programmes such as Shah Deniz and ACG run multi-billion-dollar budgets, where a single unmanaged risk can derail schedule and cost. Certified risk leaders are hired to control that exposure.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and analysis skills

    Non-Oil Diversification Pressure

As Azerbaijan shifts investment into manufacturing, transport and services, boards need disciplined risk governance to protect returns on less familiar project types.

PMI-RMP builds structured risk governance skills

    Middle Corridor Infrastructure Complexity

Baku port, rail and highway corridors coordinate many contractors and cross-border dependencies, demanding portfolio-grade risk aggregation and structured response planning at scale.

PMI-RMP builds risk aggregation and response skills

    Scarcity of Certified Risk Talent

Azerbaijan has a deep pool of project managers but few PMI-RMP holders. The credential's rigour makes certified risk specialists rare and sought-after by leading employers.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk specialists stand out

Regulatory and Financial Risk in Banking

Banking reform and fintech growth expose institutions to project and compliance risk that certified professionals are trained to identify, analyse and mitigate.

PMI-RMP builds risk identification and mitigation skills

    Green Transition Uncertainty

New renewable and water projects such as Karabakh solar and Absheron desalination carry technical and delivery uncertainty that structured risk management directly addresses.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises your ability to identify and assess project risks, mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities. It sets risk specialists apart from general project management practitioners.

    General

    What is the PMI-RMP certification?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises your ability to identify and assess project risks, mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities. It sets risk specialists apart from general project management practitioners.

Who should take PMI-RMP training in Baku?

The training suits project managers, risk analysts, PMO members and delivery leads who manage uncertainty on complex projects. In Baku it is especially valuable for professionals in oil and gas, construction, banking and the public sector, where structured risk management is expected.

Is PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Azerbaijan?

Yes. Azerbaijan runs large, high-value energy and infrastructure programmes but has few certified risk specialists, so the credential helps you stand out and earn well above the national average. Senior risk and management roles in Baku command strong pay. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education. Many PMI-RMP holders also hold PMP, as the two credentials are complementary.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle, reported through PMI's CCR system.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Baku?

Training fees vary by format, so pricing is available on request. Instructor-led and corporate options are quoted locally, and the PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for the format that suits you.

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the PMI application, and learner support. The PMI exam fee is not included.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; confirm current fees on pmi.org. PMI membership, about USD 139 a year, lowers the exam cost.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and leadership groups in Baku and across Azerbaijan. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that works best for you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and uses multiple-choice formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer questions.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

The exam covers five domains from the January 2022 Examination Content Outline: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is determined through psychometric analysis, and results are reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Baku?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your one-year eligibility period.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to help you pass the first time.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks. You also practise qualitative and quantitative tools such as the probability and impact matrix, Monte Carlo simulation and decision trees.

Which standard is the training based on?

The training is built on the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, and it reflects risk management in predictive, agile and hybrid project environments.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 115-question format, along with topic-wise quizzes, to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience within the last five years, so the course also helps experienced professionals structure and document that experience for the application.

Does the training satisfy the PMI education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education. This fully meets the 30-hour requirement for bachelor's-degree candidates (Set B) and GAC-accredited candidates (Set C). Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add further study.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-RMP?

PMI has three sets: Set A needs a secondary diploma, 36 months of risk experience and 40 hours of education; Set B needs a degree, 24 months and 30 hours; Set C needs a GAC-accredited degree, 12 months and 30 hours. Experience must be within the last five years.

How do I enrol in the PMI-RMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Our team can also guide you through the PMI application.

What training formats are available in Baku?

We offer live online instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule. Live online training lets you join from anywhere in Azerbaijan.

Can I reschedule to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact our support team to arrange this.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly in live online and classroom formats, so you can usually start within a short time of enrolling. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next batch that suits you.
