Is there an exam for the QFD training?

No. QFD training is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction, case study examples and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the course?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a record of attendance and learning, not a formal external credential, as QFD training has no awarding body or certification exam.

How is learning assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, learning is applied through hands-on exercises that run throughout the day, including Voice of the Customer structuring, Kano classification and building a full House of Quality from a realistic scenario.

Is QFD an accredited certification?

Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The course covers QFD principles and origins, capturing and structuring the Voice of the Customer, building the House of Quality step by step, interpreting the matrix for design priorities, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design.

How long is the QFD training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all six QFD modules with concept explanations, real-world case examples and hands-on House of Quality exercises throughout. An extended two half-day format covering the same content is also available.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day. You structure customer needs with an affinity diagram, classify them with the Kano model, build a complete House of Quality from a realistic product or service scenario, and identify design hot spots and conflicts.

Is the training relevant to services as well as manufacturing?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers applications in services such as healthcare, financial services and IT, plus software development. The House of Quality applies wherever customer requirements must become design or delivery specifications.
