Why Dubai Needs Certified Risk Professionals Now

    Giga-Project Risk Complexity

Dubai's 2040 Urban Master Plan and giga-projects run at a scale where a single overlooked threat can cost millions, demanding structured, portfolio-grade project risk management.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and planning skills

    Energy Transition Uncertainty

Major energy and infrastructure programmes in the UAE face shifting cost, schedule and regulatory risk, so employers need specialists who can quantify and respond to uncertainty.

PMI-RMP builds analysis and response skills

    Tighter Banking Regulation

Central Bank of UAE and Basel-aligned rules push banks and insurers to formalise project risk governance, creating strong demand for credentialed risk professionals.

PMI-RMP builds governance and monitoring skills

    Certified Risk Talent Shortage

Dubai's market is deep in PMP project managers but thin in dedicated risk specialists. The PMI-RMP eligibility bar makes holders rare and highly sought after.

PMI-RMP makes certified specialists stand out

    Cost and Schedule Overruns

Capital discipline across real estate and infrastructure pushes organisations to control overruns, and proactive risk response is exactly the capability that prevents them.

PMI-RMP builds reserve and contingency skills

    ESG and Compliance Demands

Rising ESG and regulatory expectations, including VARA oversight, require documented, auditable risk frameworks that trained risk professionals are hired to build and maintain.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing, responding to and monitoring project risks. It is designed for project managers, risk analysts, PMO professionals and consultants who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing, responding to and monitoring project risks. It is designed for project managers, risk analysts, PMO professionals and consultants who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it in Dubai?

Yes. Certified risk specialists are in short supply across Dubai's construction, energy, banking and government sectors, while PMI credentials typically carry a 20 to 30 percent pay premium over non-certified peers. It is a strong differentiator as giga-projects and tighter risk governance drive demand.

    Is PMP required before PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both, as the two credentials are complementary, with the PMI-RMP adding deep, differentiated risk expertise.

How is the PMI-RMP different from the PMP?

The PMP is a broad project management credential that covers risk as one of many areas. The PMI-RMP specialises entirely in project risk management: strategy, identification, analysis, response and monitoring. Professionals pursue it to prove advanced risk competency alongside their PMP.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the PMI renewal fee.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instructor-led training, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Dubai?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Live online and classroom options are available in Dubai. Speak with a learning advisor for current fees and any group offers.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, for reference around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members. PMI membership can lower the exam cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before you apply.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, delivery teams and risk functions in Dubai. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes mock exams and domain-focused practice to prepare you thoroughly, and re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Confirm current amounts on pmi.org.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

Per the January 2022 ECO there are five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Dubai?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre in Dubai. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your eligibility period.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

You can enrol in the training at any level to build your risk skills and earn contact hours. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and education under Set A, B or C. Our advisors can help you check eligibility.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five ECO domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks, across predictive, agile and hybrid environments, plus PMI application and exam strategy.

Does this training meet the PMI-RMP education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) applicants. Set A applicants need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.
