The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, distributed across the PMI Talent Triangle.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management. It covers five performance domains and is delivered via Pearson VUE test centres or OnVUE online proctoring.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 multiple-choice questions, and you have four hours (240 minutes) to complete it. Questions are distributed across the five performance domains defined in the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What are the five PgMP exam domains?

The five domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Programme Life Cycle Management carries the largest share of the exam.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with performance reported by domain, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains rather than a single target number.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three exam attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training and practice resources are designed to help you prepare thoroughly and approach the exam with confidence.

What are the eligibility requirements to earn the PgMP?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To earn the PgMP, PMI requires a secondary or four-year degree plus several years of project and programme management experience within the last 15 years, an active PMP can satisfy the project experience, and you must pass a panel review and the exam.
