    Is the CSM recognised by employers in Zimbabwe?

    Yes. CSM is the world's most widely recognised Scrum Master credential, with over one million certificates issued, and it is valued by Zimbabwean employers across banking, fintech, telecom and IT, as well as internationally.

    Do I need to attend a course to earn the CSM?

    Yes. Attendance at an approved CSM course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) is mandatory. The online CSM exam cannot be accessed until you complete the course, so training is a required step, not an optional one.

    How long is the CSM certification valid?

    CSM is valid for two years. To renew it, you earn 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and pay the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee within each two-year cycle. SEUs can be earned through courses, coaching, teaching and self-study.

    What if I do not pass the CSM exam the first time?

    You have up to three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing the course, so a single miss is not a setback. Our training and practice questions are designed to prepare you to pass on your first attempt.

    How many questions are on the CSM exam and how long is it?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and you have 60 minutes (one hour) to complete it. It is taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you finish the course.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    You need 74% to pass, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The exam tests knowledge and comprehension of the Scrum framework and the Scrum Master role.

    Is the CSM exam open book and taken online?

    Yes. The CSM exam is open book and taken online via the Scrum Alliance portal, without a proctor. You have 90 days from course completion to sit it, with up to three attempts in that window.

    Which standard is the CSM exam based on?

    The exam is based on the current Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and aligned to the November 2020 Scrum Guide by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, the current edition of the framework's foundational reference.

    What topics does the CSM training cover?

    The training covers the six Scrum Alliance learning objectives: Scrum theory and principles, the five Scrum values, the Scrum Team, Scrum events, Scrum artifacts, and the Scrum Master role, all aligned to the 2020 Scrum Guide.

    Is the courseware aligned with the latest Scrum Guide?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the November 2020 Scrum Guide, which is the latest edition of the framework's core reference.

    What learning resources are provided?

    You receive Scrum Alliance-aligned courseware, industry case studies illustrating facilitation and impediment removal, practice questions mapped to the exam format, and guidance on the online CSM assessment.

    How long is the CSM training programme?
