What Is Fuelling Demand for Governance Skills in Zimbabwe

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing examination. The only permitted materials are the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide. It is delivered online proctored through PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has four questions, each worth 20 marks, for a total of 80 marks. You have two and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. The questions are scenario-based and require applied judgment, not just recall.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50%. You must achieve 40 marks or more out of the 80 available to pass the COBIT 5 Implementation exam.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You can resit the exam under PeopleCert's re-sit policy. Our mock exams, practice questions and open-book technique sessions are designed to help you prepare thoroughly and aim for a first-attempt pass. Confirm current re-sit terms with PeopleCert.

Which edition or syllabus is the exam based on?

The exam is based on the COBIT 5 framework and the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version). It covers the need for a governance framework, the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation course cover?

The course covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all aligned to the 2022 syllabus and taught at application level.

What are the seven phases of the implementation lifecycle?

The phases are: What are the drivers? Where are we now? Where do we want to be? What needs to be done? How do we get there? Did we get there? How do we keep the momentum going? Together they form a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-off project.

Do I need prior experience, or is Foundation enough to start?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation before taking this course, as it assumes that knowledge. Beyond that, no formal work experience is required, though the level suits practitioners who lead or support governance improvement. The training builds your practical capability step by step.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies illustrating the lifecycle and change enablement, practice questions, mock exams and guidance on navigating the open-book reference materials efficiently.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and the COBIT 5 Implementation Guide, so what you study maps directly to what the exam assesses.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the COBIT 5 Implementation course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and learning style in Zimbabwe.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly across live virtual and corporate formats. View upcoming schedules or speak with a learning advisor to find the next start date that works for you.
