Is the DevOps Foundation certification worth it in Ukraine?

Who awards the DevOps Foundation certification?

The certification is awarded by the DevOps Institute, now part of PeopleCert, a globally recognised body operating in over 100 countries. It is a vendor-neutral credential recognised by employers worldwide.

Are there any prerequisites for DevOps Foundation?

No. DevOps Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to everyone, regardless of education, experience or prior DevOps knowledge. Familiarity with basic IT concepts is helpful but not required.

How long is the DevOps Foundation certification valid?

DevOps Foundation is valid for three years. To renew, you earn the required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education activities within the three-year cycle.

What is the format of the DevOps Foundation exam?

The exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint and Body of Knowledge. It is taken online with PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and what is the pass mark?

The DevOps Foundation exam has 40 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 65%, meaning you must answer at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly.

Where can I take the DevOps Foundation exam?

You can sit the exam online from home or office through PeopleCert OnVUE online proctoring, or at an authorised test centre. It is usually arranged through your training provider as part of a training and exam bundle.

What topics does the DevOps Foundation exam cover?

The exam covers six topic areas: DevOps Foundations, DevOps Concepts and Practices, Agile/ITSM/Lean IT, the DevOps Continuous Delivery Pipeline, Automation and Tooling, and DevOps Culture and Organisation.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the DevOps Foundation exam. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and first-attempt guidance to help you prepare thoroughly. Confirm the current re-sit policy and any fee with the DevOps Institute before rebooking.

Course Content

What will I learn in the DevOps Foundation course?

You will learn DevOps history and principles, the Three Ways, the CALMS framework, CI/CD and the delivery pipeline, automation and tooling, DORA metrics, and DevOps culture. The content maps to the six official exam topic areas.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. DevOps Foundation is designed as an entry point with no prerequisites, so beginners are welcome. The trainer builds up concepts from first principles, supported by case studies and practice questions.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes DevOps Foundation practice questions and mock exams aligned to the 40-question, closed-book format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam confidence.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest DevOps Foundation syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint and Body of Knowledge published by the DevOps Institute, so you study the concepts the exam actually tests.

How long is the training and in what format?

The training runs for 16 hours, typically over two full days or four half-days. It is delivered live virtual (online) instructor-led, as well as onsite and one-to-one options, so you can pick what fits your schedule.
