Assessment

Is there an exam for Azure DevOps training?

No. This is a non-examination skills course. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps labs throughout the programme rather than a formal test.

How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. You apply each concept through practical exercises, building pipelines, infrastructure as code and monitoring on Azure as the instructor guides you.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning. No external awarding body is involved, as the course builds practical skills rather than a certification.

How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours), covering all six modules with concept explanations and hands-on Azure exercises. It can also be delivered as two half-days.

What standards and practices does the course follow?

The course is grounded in established DevOps practice, including the CALMS model, the Three Ways of DevOps and DORA metrics, applied through the current Azure DevOps services and YAML pipelines.

Course Content

What topics does Azure DevOps training cover?

The course covers DevOps principles and the Azure ecosystem, source control with Azure Repos, CI/CD with Azure Pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers with ACR and AKS, monitoring, and DevSecOps.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. There are no formal prerequisites and every Azure DevOps service is introduced from a practitioner's perspective. Basic development or operations familiarity helps but is not required.

Are there hands-on labs?

Yes. You practise throughout, creating repositories with branch policies, writing YAML pipelines, deploying with Bicep, deploying to AKS, and setting up Azure Monitor alerts and dashboards.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code?

Yes. You learn to provision Azure resources as code using ARM templates and Bicep, and to deploy them from Azure Pipelines so environments are repeatable and version-controlled.

Is security covered in the training?

Yes. The DevSecOps module covers Microsoft Defender for DevOps, secret and dependency scanning, and Azure Key Vault integration so security is built into your pipelines.
