What is the format of the EXIN DevOps Master exam?

The exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the current EXIN DevOps Master Examination Specification. It can be taken online with EXIN proctoring or at an accredited test location.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 questions and lasts 90 minutes (1.5 hours). It is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination delivered online or at an accredited centre.

What is the passing score for the DevOps Master exam?

The pass mark is 65%, so you must answer at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly. Preparation across all six topic areas is the best route to a first-attempt pass.

What topics does the DevOps Master exam cover?

Six topic areas: implementing continuous delivery (about 20%), designing a DevOps architecture, improving product and process, using Lean management and monitoring, implementing cultural change (about 17% each), and assessing maturity (about 12%).

What are the DORA metrics covered in the exam?

The four DORA metrics: deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to restore (MTTR). They are the industry-standard measures of DevOps performance and feature in the Lean management and monitoring topic.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the EXIN exam, and the re-sit policy and any fee are confirmed by EXIN. Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and first-attempt guidance to help you pass the first time.
