Market Forces Driving Demand for Certified Assessors in Slovakia

    IT Governance Maturity Gap

COBIT 5 Assessor closes the assurance gap

    EU Regulatory Pressure

COBIT 5 Assessor builds evidence-based assurance

    Assessor Talent Scarcity

Slovakia has a deep pool of IT delivery and project talent but few certified process assessors, making COBIT 5 Assessor holders rare and sought-after for governance and audit roles.

Certified assessors stand out in the market

    Assurance Demand in Banking

Bratislava's banks and insurers need comparable, repeatable capability ratings for internal audit and compliance, driving demand for professionals who can rate and report objectively.

COBIT 5 Assessor supports audit and compliance

    Cloud and Transformation Risk

Rapid cloud adoption and digital transformation across service centres expose governance gaps that only structured, evidence-based capability assessment can measure and prioritise.

A globally recognised, PeopleCert-examined credential at the top of the COBIT 5 scheme

    General

What is the COBIT 5 Assessor certification and who is it for?

COBIT 5 Assessor is the highest, advanced-specialist level of the COBIT 5 qualification scheme. It is designed for IT auditors, GRC specialists, governance managers and consultants.

Is COBIT 5 Assessor worth it for professionals in Slovakia?

Yes. Slovak business service centres, banks and consulting firms increasingly need evidence-based governance assurance, and certified process assessors are scarce. The credential positions you for IT audit, GRC and governance assessment roles that command strong salary bands across Bratislava and beyond.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Assessor?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required before you can sit the Assessor exam. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, as the Assessor syllabus assumes both Foundation and Implementation knowledge. Please verify current prerequisites at peoplecert.org before applying.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The COBIT 5 Assessor exam is an open-book, objective-testing paper based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and aligned to ISO/IEC 15504. It tests your ability to plan, conduct, rate and report a formal COBIT 5 process capability assessment at application and analysis level.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. You have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. All eight questions are scored; there are no unscored pretest questions.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50%. You must achieve 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because the paper is scenario-based and analytical, focus on applying the PAM and the four-point rating scale rather than rote recall.

Which materials are allowed in the open-book exam?

Only two references are permitted: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are allowed, so efficient navigation of both documents under timed conditions is an essential exam skill the course builds.

How is the exam delivered and can I retake it?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either online proctored through the OnVUE system, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. Retake and voucher validity policies vary, so confirm the current re-sit policy at peoplecert.org.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Assessor training cover?

The 16-hour programme covers all five syllabus topic areas: overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the COBIT 5 PAM, capability levels and process attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting. It prepares you for the 8-question open-book exam.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM)?

The COBIT 5 PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess the capability of COBIT 5 processes. It has two dimensions: the process dimension (the 37 COBIT 5 processes) and the capability dimension (six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising), assessed through nine process attributes.

Do I need prior COBIT 5 knowledge to take this course?

Yes. COBIT 5 Foundation is a mandatory prerequisite and Implementation is recommended, because the Assessor course assumes both. Foundation and Implementation content is not retaught, so the training focuses on applying the PAM to conduct formal assessments.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive COBIT 5 Assessor aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies illustrating assessment planning, evidence gathering, rating and reporting, plus practice questions and mock exams. These resources help you apply the concepts and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and built on the COBIT 5 PAM and the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5, so what you study matches what the exam assesses.

    Enrollment

Who can enrol in COBIT 5 Assessor training?

Anyone can enrol in the training, but to sit the exam you must hold COBIT 5 Foundation, with Implementation recommended. The course suits IT auditors, GRC specialists, governance managers and consultants who want the highest COBIT 5 qualification.

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

What training formats are available in Slovakia?
