    Is the CSM certification worth it in Sweden?

    Yes. As Swedish employers scale agile delivery, certified Scrum Masters earn around 636,600 kr on average and are recruited across fintech, telecom, automotive and gaming. CSM is the most widely recognised Scrum Master credential globally.

    Do I need to attend a course to earn the CSM?

    Yes. Attendance at a Scrum Alliance approved CSM course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer is mandatory. You cannot access the CSM exam without completing an approved course.

    How long is the CSM certification valid?

    CSM is valid for two years. You renew it by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee within each two-year cycle.

    What is the next step after CSM?

    The Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) is the next level in the Scrum Alliance Scrum Master track. CSM is the mandatory prerequisite, and A-CSM also requires at least 12 months in a Scrum Master role.

    How many questions are on the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions with a 60-minute time limit. It is open book and taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete the course.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    You must answer at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly, a pass mark of 74 per cent. The training and practice questions prepare you to clear this comfortably.

    What if I do not pass the first time?

    You have up to three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing the course. Our trainers and practice questions help you prepare, so most candidates pass on their first attempt.

    Is the CSM exam open or closed book?

    The CSM exam is open book, so you can refer to materials during the online test. It is taken without a proctor through the Scrum Alliance portal.

    When and how do I take the CSM exam?

    You take the exam online within 90 days of completing your approved CSM course, logging in to your Scrum Alliance member account. No test centre visit is required.

    Can a beginner take the CSM course?

    Yes. CSM has no formal prerequisites and is designed for those new to Scrum as well as practitioners formalising their knowledge. The course builds from Scrum theory to practical facilitation.

    What topics does the CSM training cover?

    The training covers Scrum theory and principles, the five Scrum values, the Scrum Team, the five Scrum events, the three artifacts, and the Scrum Master role and servant leadership.

    How long is the CSM course?

    The instructor-led CSM course runs for 16 hours, delivered as two full days or four half-days, which meets Scrum Alliance course requirements.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest Scrum Guide?

    Yes. The courseware follows the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current 2020 Scrum Guide, so you learn the framework as it stands today.

    Are practice questions provided?
