    General

Is the VeriSM Foundation certification worth it in Saudi Arabia?

Yes. VeriSM Foundation validates modern, framework-agnostic service management skills that Saudi employers in telecoms, banking, government and consulting increasingly need for Vision 2030 digital transformation. It opens roles from service management analyst to service delivery manager, where salaries reach up to SAR 394,000 and beyond.

What is VeriSM and who governs the certification?

VeriSM is a service management approach for the digital age that helps organisations define their own flexible approach using the management mesh. The Foundation certification is governed by EXIN, the internationally recognised examination institute, and based on the VeriSM framework developed by the IFDC.

Who should take VeriSM Foundation training?

VeriSM Foundation suits IT and business professionals alike, including service desk staff, IT operations and delivery professionals, managers and ITIL holders who want a broader, modern view of service management. It is the entry point to the EXIN VeriSM scheme and needs no prior service management knowledge.

How is VeriSM different from ITIL?

ITIL is a prescriptive framework, while VeriSM is a flexible approach that positions ITIL as one of many practices in the management mesh, alongside Agile, DevOps, Lean and SIAM. The two are highly complementary; VeriSM shows how ITIL fits within a broader, context-driven service management model.

How long is the VeriSM Foundation certification valid?

The VeriSM Foundation certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing-education requirement once you pass the EXIN exam.

    Exam

What is the format of the VeriSM Foundation exam?

The EXIN VeriSM Foundation exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination with single-answer questions. It is delivered online through EXIN online proctoring or at an accredited test location, and is based on the EXIN VeriSM Foundation Examination Specification.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 questions and lasts 60 minutes (1 hour). It is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions across the seven VeriSM Foundation topic areas.

What is the passing score for VeriSM Foundation?

The pass mark is 65 per cent, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly. We recommend broad mastery across all seven topic areas rather than focusing on any single one.

Are there prerequisites to sit the VeriSM Foundation exam?

No. EXIN VeriSM Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of education, experience or prior service management knowledge. Attending an accredited training course is recommended as preparation.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the EXIN exam; verify the current re-sit policy and fees with EXIN. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and trainer guidance to help you prepare thoroughly and sit with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the VeriSM Foundation course cover?

The course covers seven EXIN topic areas: The Service Organisation, Service Culture, People and Organisational Structure, The VeriSM Model, Progressive Practices, Innovative Technologies, and Getting Started. Together they build a complete view of modern service management.

What will I learn about the VeriSM model?

You will learn the VeriSM model in depth, including governance, service management principles, the management mesh, and the Define, Produce, Provide and Respond stages. You will also see how to select and combine practices such as ITIL, Agile, DevOps and Lean.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. VeriSM Foundation is designed to be accessible to IT and business professionals alike, with no prior service management knowledge required. The training builds concepts step by step, supported by practical examples and practice questions.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 40-question EXIN VeriSM Foundation format, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness before exam day.

Is the courseware aligned with the current EXIN specification?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current EXIN VeriSM Foundation Examination Specification and the VeriSM publication from Van Haren Publishing, so you study exactly what the exam assesses.
