Who governs the DevOps Foundation certification?

The certification is governed by the DevOps Institute, now part of PeopleCert. The DevOps Institute publishes the DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint and Body of Knowledge on which the exam is based, and exams are delivered through PeopleCert.

How long is the DevOps Foundation certification valid?

DevOps Foundation is valid for three years. Renewal is by earning the required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education. Confirm the current renewal requirements at devopsinstitute.com.

What is the format of the DevOps Foundation exam?

The DevOps Foundation exam is closed book with 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions. It is based on the DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint and Body of Knowledge published by the DevOps Institute.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 questions and you have 60 minutes (1 hour) to complete it. It is a closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice format.

What is the passing score for the DevOps Foundation exam?

The pass mark is 65%, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly. Broad understanding across all six topic areas is the best way to prepare.

Where can I take the DevOps Foundation exam?

You can sit the exam online through PeopleCert OnVUE online proctoring or at an authorised test centre. It is often arranged through your training provider as part of a training and exam package.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?
