    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam is an online, open-book, multiple-choice test taken through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course. It is based on the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide.

    How many questions are on the CSM exam and how long is it?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and a time limit of 60 minutes (one hour). It is taken online without a proctor after you complete the course.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    The passing score is 74%, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The exam is open book, so you can refer to materials while you take it online.

    Do I have to attend a course to take the CSM exam?

    Yes. Attendance at an approved Scrum Alliance CSM course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer is mandatory. The exam cannot be accessed without completing the course, and you have 90 days after completion to sit it.

    What if I do not pass the CSM exam the first time?

    Candidates typically have up to three attempts to pass the CSM exam within 90 days of completing the course. With an open-book format and structured preparation, most learners pass comfortably. Our trainers help you get exam-ready during the course.
