Why the COBIT 5 Implementation Credential Pays OffFor Professionals and Teams in Qatar

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

COBIT 5 Implementation training helps governance professionals move from framework awareness to real delivery capability. The intermediate credential validates that you can plan, run and sustain a governance improvement programme, which is exactly what employers in regulated sectors look for. Whether you are formalising a governance mandate, stepping up from a GRC or audit role, or leading transformation in banking, energy, telecom or the public sector, this course builds capabilities aligned to senior expectations.

If you hold COBIT 5 Foundation and want to lead governance improvement rather than support it, this is a clear next step. You gain applied lifecycle knowledge, exam-day open-book technique and a credential that travels across Qatar's employers and beyond.

    • Positions you for IT governance manager, GRC lead and enterprise architect roles
    • Builds command of the seven-phase implementation lifecycle end to end
    • Strengthens change enablement, programme management and benefits-realisation skills

The programme can be delivered for GRC functions, IT leadership or transformation teams. For organisations under pressure to improve governance maturity and evidence it to regulators and boards, this training provides a scalable, practical solution.

If your enterprise struggles to turn governance frameworks into sustained practice, team training creates a common language for the implementation lifecycle, change enablement and continuous improvement, so governance becomes part of how the organisation runs.

    • Builds consistent IT governance practice across teams and business units
    • Connects IT investment and delivery to enterprise strategy and risk appetite
    • Closes audit and regulatory findings through structured governance improvement
    • Embeds change enablement so new governance practices actually stick
    • Enables tailored delivery aligned to your sector and compliance obligations

Governance Careers and Demand in QatarWhy Earn This Credential

IT governance capability is rising up the agenda across Qatar as the National Digital Agenda 2030 and the National Cyber Security Strategy push organisations to mature how they govern, control and assure IT. Banking, energy, telecom and government employers increasingly want professionals who can lead governance improvement, not simply audit it. Demand concentrates at the manager and lead level, from IT governance manager and GRC lead to enterprise architect and IT director, and here is what the market is telling us right now.

Market Forces Driving Governance Skills in Qatar

    Governance Maturity Gap

Many enterprises in Qatar adopt governance frameworks on paper but struggle to embed them, the exact gap the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle is built to close through structured, phased improvement.

    Learn the seven-phase implementation lifecycle

    Rising Regulatory and Cyber Pressure

The National Cyber Security Strategy and sector regulators are raising governance expectations, so banks, energy firms and government bodies need leaders who can evidence IT governance maturity.

    Build compliance-ready governance skills

    Digital Agenda 2030 Transformation

As Qatar invests billions in digital transformation, weak links between strategy and the funded IT portfolio cause value leakage that governance improvement programmes are hired to fix.

    Connect IT investment to strategy

    Change That Does Not Stick

Governance initiatives fail on adoption, not design. COBIT 5 change enablement gives professionals the awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement approach to make new practice endure.

    Apply the change enablement cycle

    Governance Talent Scarcity

Qatar has many IT and audit professionals but few who can lead a full governance improvement programme. The intermediate COBIT 5 credential makes holders visibly qualified and in demand.

Stand out as an implementation lead

    Capital and Efficiency Discipline

Pressure to optimise IT spend pushes organisations to prioritise, retire low-value work and rebalance to strategy, decisions that depend on mature portfolio and governance oversight.

    Build continuous improvement capability

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing examination. Four questions are set, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted during the exam.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has four questions, each worth 20 marks, giving 80 marks in total. You have two and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. All four questions are scored.

    What is the passing score?

The pass mark is 50 percent, which is 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because it is open book and scenario based, deep method knowledge and efficient navigation of the permitted books both matter.

How and where do I sit the exam?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either online proctored through the OnVUE system, available around the clock, or at an authorised test centre. You can sit it from Qatar online or at a centre convenient to you.

What if I do not pass the first time?

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation course cover?

The course covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all at application level per the 2022 syllabus.

What are the seven phases of the implementation lifecycle?

The phases are: what are the drivers; where are we now; where do we want to be; what needs to be done; how do we get there; did we get there; and how do we keep the momentum going. It is designed as a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-off project.

Can I take this course if I am new to leading governance programmes?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation first, but you do not need prior programme-leadership experience. The course builds applied skills step by step using scenarios, so professionals moving from audit, risk or IT into governance leadership can follow it comfortably.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version), scenario-based practice questions, mock exams and guidance on navigating the two permitted open-book references efficiently.

    How long is the training?

The instructor-led programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over two full days or four half-days depending on the schedule format. It covers all four topic areas and prepares you for the open-book exam.
