How to Get PMI-ACP Certified in PanamaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The path to Online PMI-ACP certification follows a streamlined exam-based process. After completing the required training and obtaining PMI approval, candidates proceed directly to the certification examination administered through Pearson VUE. Unlike some senior PMI credentials, PMI-ACP does not require a peer-panel review. Most candidates complete the journey from training to certification within 6–10 weeks, depending on preparation time and application processing.

    Step 1: Confirm PMI-ACP Eligibility

Verify you meet the PMI-ACP eligibility requirements: a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's, or global equivalent); 2,000 hours (12 months) of general project experience within the last 5 years; at least 1,500 hours (8 months) of agile project experience within the last 3 years (in addition to the general project experience); and 21 contact hours in agile practices. The agile experience can be on the same projects as the general project experience.

Step 2: Enrol in the 3-Day PMI-ACP Training

Choose your preferred Invensis Learning PMI-ACP cohort (3-Day Live Online Bootcamp, E-Learning, or Corporate Group Training). Step 3: Register on the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the PMI-ACP exam fee from ~$495 to ~$435 and gives access to the PMI Agile Practice Guide.

Step 4: Submit the PMI-ACP Application to PMI

Submit your application via the PMI candidate portal: document your general and agile project experience and your agile-practices training, and pay the application/exam fee (~$435 PMI member or ~$495 non-member). PMI typically processes applications within 5-10 business days. No peer-panel review is required.

Step 5: Sit the 120-Question PMI-ACP Exam via Pearson VUE

Once approved, you receive a one-year exam eligibility window. Book your PMI-ACP exam through Pearson VUE , online proctored from your home or office in Panama, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is 120 multiple-choice scenario questions over 180 minutes, covering all seven agile practitioner domains.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-ACP Credential and Plan CCR Renewal

On passing, PMI issues your PMI-ACP digital badge and certificate. The credential is valid for three years; renew via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning 30 PDUs in agile-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

    General

Is the PMI-ACP certification worth it in Panama?

Yes. The PMI-ACP proves versatile agile skill and is valued by Panama's banks, fintechs, logistics groups and nearshore technology firms that run iterative delivery. Certified practitioners fill in-demand roles such as Scrum Master, product owner and agile coach, where agile talent is scarcer than traditional project managers.

What is the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)?

The PMI-ACP is PMI's agile practitioner credential. It validates knowledge and experience across multiple frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming and Test-Driven Development, so it is not tied to a single method. It is a globally recognised, experience-backed certification.

    Who should take PMI-ACP training?

PMI-ACP training suits project managers, Scrum Masters, product owners, agile coaches, and IT and software delivery professionals working in agile or hybrid teams. It also fits experienced project managers moving from predictive to agile or hybrid delivery.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-ACP?

To sit the exam you need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience in the last 5 years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience in the last 3 years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-ACP is valid for three years. To renew it, you earn 30 Professional Development Units (PDUs) in agile topics within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-ACP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 24 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, and guidance on the PMI application. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Contact us for current pricing in Panama and to request a quote.

How much does the PMI-ACP exam cost?

For reference, the PMI-ACP exam fee is around USD 435 for PMI members and USD 495 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership costs about USD 139 per year and can lower the exam fee while giving access to free resources such as the Agile Practice Guide.

Is the exam fee included in the course price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-ACP exam fee separately, in USD, through its own portal. Our training fee covers the instruction, courseware and preparation resources. Ask a learning advisor for a clear breakdown before you enrol.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery teams, PMOs and business units across Panama. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-ACP exam first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams, practice questions and trainer support are designed to prepare you thoroughly so you can sit with confidence.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-ACP exam has 120 multiple-choice questions and a three-hour allotted time. It is closed book and proctored, with questions distributed across the seven agile domains of the Examination Content Outline.

How is the PMI-ACP exam scored?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam in Panama?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility window.

Which standard is the PMI-ACP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, which defines seven agile domains. It also draws on recognised agile references, including PMI's Agile Practice Guide and the Scrum Guide.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-ACP course?

You will learn to apply agile tools and techniques across the seven domains of the Examination Content Outline: agile principles and mindset, value-driven delivery, stakeholder engagement, team performance, adaptive planning, problem detection and resolution, and continuous improvement.

Which agile frameworks does the training cover?

The training spans multiple frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming and Test-Driven Development, along with practices such as backlog management, story points, velocity tracking, burndown charts and retrospectives, reflecting the multi-framework nature of the credential.

Does the course satisfy the 21 contact hours PMI requires?

Yes. The programme delivers 24 contact hours of agile training, which exceeds the 21 contact hours PMI requires as a prerequisite and fully satisfies that part of your application.

Can a beginner to agile take this course?

The course is designed for people who already work in agile or hybrid teams, since the PMI-ACP requires agile experience to certify. If you are newer to agile, our trainers and structured resources help you build the concepts and prepare toward eligibility.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions mapped to the 120-question exam format, full-length mock exams, and guidance on documenting your project and agile experience for the PMI application.
