What Is Driving Demand for VeriSM Skills in Malawi

    Fragmented Service Frameworks

Malawian IT teams often run ITIL, Agile and DevOps in silos. VeriSM gives a single model to combine them around consumer outcomes rather than one prescriptive framework.

    VeriSM unifies your service practices

    Rapid Digital Transformation

Banks and public bodies are digitising services fast under Malawi's Digital Economy Strategy, yet few staff can manage services flexibly across constantly changing technology.

VeriSM builds flexible, adaptable service skills

    Mobile Money and Fintech Growth

As mobile money and digital payments scale toward 95% financial inclusion by 2028, providers need modern service management to keep services reliable and consumer-centred.

    VeriSM keeps digital services consumer-focused

    Scarce Modern Service Skills

Malawi's talent pool is thin in agnostic, digital-era service management. Certified VeriSM professionals are rare and stand out to employers hiring for service roles.

VeriSM makes certified professionals stand out

    Legacy, Technology-Centric IT

Many organisations still run technology-first IT. VeriSM moves teams to the outcome and service-centric thinking that boards and consumers now expect.

VeriSM shifts teams to service-centric thinking

    Cross-Function Collaboration Gaps

Digital services need IT and business working together. VeriSM's service culture and management mesh help break down silos across departments and functions.

    Your Malawi Career Transformation

Before and After Your VeriSM Certification

    The Shift This Credential Makes

Malawi's shift to digital services, mobile money and e-government is separating professionals who can manage services in a modern, flexible way from those who cannot. Here is which side of that line VeriSM Foundation puts you on.

    After VeriSM

Recognised, framework-agnostic capability that Malawian employers value

    Today

Overlooked for service delivery and IT operations positions

    After VeriSM

Eligible for service roles across banks, telecoms and the public sector

    Today

Pay limited by unproven, non-certified service skills

    After VeriSM

Stronger footing to move toward IT service delivery and manager bands

    You earn VeriSM Foundation

    Before

A service management approach locked to a single prescriptive framework

    Now you have

A flexible VeriSM model that combines ITIL, Agile, DevOps and Lean

    Before

No credential to prove modern, digital service management knowledge

    Now you have

A globally recognised EXIN VeriSM Foundation credential, valid for lifetime

    Before

A technology-first mindset with limited view of consumer outcomes

    Now you have

Consumer and service-centric thinking that employers want during digital change

    Before

Isolated within IT and disconnected from wider business goals

    Now you have

The skills to lead a cross-function service culture across the organisation

    General

What is the VeriSM Foundation certification?

VeriSM Foundation is an entry-level EXIN certification that validates your understanding of VeriSM, a service management approach for the digital age. It covers the VeriSM model, the management mesh and how organisations define their own flexible service management approach.

Is VeriSM Foundation worth it for professionals in Malawi?

Yes. As Malawi digitises banking, mobile money and public services, employers increasingly need people who can manage services flexibly. VeriSM Foundation gives you a globally recognised, lifetime credential that proves modern service management skills.

Who should take VeriSM Foundation training?

It suits IT and business professionals at any stage: service desk staff, IT operations and service managers, ITIL holders wanting a broader view, and business staff in service-oriented roles. No prior service management knowledge is required.

What is the VeriSM management mesh?

The management mesh is the central VeriSM concept. It integrates four elements, resources, environment, emerging practices and management practices, so an organisation can build a flexible service management approach that fits its own context.

Who governs the VeriSM Foundation certification?

The certification is governed by EXIN, an international examination body operating in over 165 countries. The VeriSM framework itself was developed by the IFDC, and the exam follows the EXIN VeriSM Foundation Examination Specification.

How long is the VeriSM Foundation certification valid?

The VeriSM Foundation certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed.

    Course Content

What will I learn in VeriSM Foundation training?

Yes. No prior service management knowledge is required. VeriSM Foundation is designed for both IT and business professionals, so beginners and experienced practitioners can both follow it comfortably.

Training is delivered as live online (live virtual) instructor-led sessions or classroom training, typically over two days of about 16 hours, with courseware, exercises and practice questions.
