    How many questions are on the SIAM Foundation exam?

    The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes (one hour).

    What is the passing score for the SIAM Foundation exam?

    You need 65% to pass, which is 26 out of 40 questions answered correctly.

    How and where can I take the exam?

    You can take it online through EXIN's proctored exam system or at an EXIN accredited test location. It is usually arranged through an accredited training provider as part of a training and exam bundle.

    What topics does the exam cover?

    Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

    No prior SIAM experience is needed. The course starts from core concepts, so beginners and experienced ITSM professionals can both follow it. An ITIL background helps but is not required.

    The training covers all seven EXIN topic areas: SIAM concepts and the ecosystem, the implementation roadmap, roles and responsibilities, SIAM practices, cross-provider processes, challenges and risks, and how SIAM relates to ITIL, COBIT, ISO/IEC 20000, Agile, DevOps and Lean.

    How is SIAM different from ITIL?
