IT governance capability is in growing demand across Macedonia as banks, telecoms and public bodies modernise under SEPA, the Cybersecurity Strategy 2025-2028 and EU-alignment pressure. Information and communication is the highest-paying sector in the country, and financial services follow close behind. Roles run from IT governance and risk analysts through governance and audit managers up to Head of IT and CIO, and certified governance leaders remain scarce. Governance Pressures Fuelling Demand in Macedonia

    SEPA-Driven Digital Transformation

Macedonia's SEPA accession is reshaping bank operating models and products, and boards need governance leaders who can manage that change through a structured implementation lifecycle, not ad hoc projects.

COBIT 5 Implementation builds lifecycle delivery skills

    Rising Cyber Threats to Finance

The Cybersecurity Strategy 2025-2028 flags growing attacks on financial infrastructure. Certified professionals who can embed governance and risk control across the estate are increasingly in demand.

COBIT 5 Implementation strengthens IT risk control

    EU Accession Compliance Alignment

As Macedonia aligns law and practice with EU directives, organisations must raise IT governance maturity. COBIT 5 gives a proven approach to close the gap and evidence progress.

COBIT 5 Implementation aligns governance to standards

    Governance Maturity Gap in ICT

A fast-growing ICT sector, worth around USD 600 million, is outpacing the governance layer around it. Professionals who can assess current state and plan improvement are hard to find.

COBIT 5 Implementation raises governance maturity

    Scarcity of Certified Governance Leaders

Macedonia has strong IT delivery talent but few credentialed governance leaders. The Foundation prerequisite and applied exam make COBIT 5 Implementation holders rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5 Implementation makes holders stand out

    Board Demand for IT-Business Alignment

Executives want IT investment tied to strategy and value. COBIT 5's goals cascade and programme management help leaders translate board priorities into a funded, governed improvement roadmap.

    Your Macedonia Career Transformation

    Where You Stand Today,

And Where COBIT 5 Implementation Takes You

Macedonia's IT and financial sectors are modernising fast under SEPA, cybersecurity and EU-alignment pressure, and employers increasingly separate certified governance leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Pay capped with limited leverage to negotiate in the local market

    After COBIT 5

IT governance and Head of IT roles in Macedonia command well above the national salary average

    Today

Shortlisted less often for roles that list governance implementation as preferred

    After COBIT 5

Eligible for senior governance and audit roles across banking, telecoms and ICT

    Today

Strong on framework theory, but employers want proven implementation

    After COBIT 5

Fluent in translating governance strategy into a delivered improvement programme

    You earn COBIT 5 Implementation

    Before

Governance authority rests on job title, not a recognised credential

    Now you have

An internationally recognised IT governance credential valued by Macedonian and global employers

    Before

Stuck at framework-awareness level with no mandate to lead change

    Now you have

A clear route into IT governance manager and Head of IT roles

    Before

Comfortable with COBIT theory, but not with running an improvement programme

    Now you have

The skills employers ask for: lifecycle delivery, change enablement and programme management

    Before

Recognition tied to one employer or one project

    Now you have

A credential that travels across banking, telecoms, ICT and the public sector

"The distance between knowing COBIT and leading a governance programme is a recognised credential, and the organisations that matter already know it."

Train with Invensis Learning and make the shift from framework awareness to governance leadership.

The Capabilities You Will BuildGovernance Improvement in Practice

This COBIT 5 Implementation programme builds the practical governance skills that the four exam topic areas assess: the need for a governance framework and the implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement. By the end, you can plan, lead and sustain a governance improvement programme.

    Make the Case for Governance

The skills covered in COBIT 5 Implementation start with the need for governance: identify pain points and regulatory drivers, quantify the cost of weak IT control, and build a business case that secures executive sponsorship for the programme.

    Run the Seven-Phase Lifecycle

Apply the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle end to end, from Phase 1 drivers and Phase 2 current-state assessment through target state, roadmap, implementation, outcome evaluation and sustaining momentum, all linked to the goals cascade.

    Lead Change Enablement

Work through the five-component change enablement cycle, awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement, to win adoption, manage stakeholders and overcome resistance to governance change.

    Manage the Improvement Programme

Structure and govern a COBIT 5 programme: set up the PMO and roles, build the roadmap, prioritise using the goals cascade, track progress and manage benefits realisation to leadership.

    Embed Continuous Improvement

Turn governance from a one-off project into an ongoing discipline, using assessment results to drive successive cycles, sustaining maturity and building self-reliant in-house governance capability.

    Master Open-Book Exam Technique

Navigate the COBIT 5 Implementation book and COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide efficiently under timed conditions, so you can answer the four scenario questions accurately within the open-book format.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 implementation approach to plan and manage a governance improvement programme. It suits IT governance managers, consultants, risk and compliance leads, and CIOs driving governance change.

    General

What is COBIT 5 Implementation and who is it for?

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 implementation approach to plan and manage a governance improvement programme. It suits IT governance managers, consultants, risk and compliance leads, and CIOs driving governance change.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it for professionals in Macedonia?

Yes. Information and communication is Macedonia's highest-paying sector, and banks, telecoms and public bodies are raising governance maturity under SEPA, the Cybersecurity Strategy 2025-2028 and EU alignment. Certified governance leaders are scarce, so the credential opens senior roles from IT governance manager to Head of IT.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, developed by ISACA, and the exam is delivered through PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries. The credential is valued by employers worldwide for governance, consulting and GRC roles.

How does Implementation differ from COBIT 5 Foundation?

Foundation validates knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework at awareness level and is a closed-book exam. Implementation is an open-book, application-level exam that tests your ability to apply the implementation lifecycle, change enablement and programme management to real scenarios. Foundation is the prerequisite for Implementation.

What comes after COBIT 5 Implementation?

The next step is COBIT 5 Assessor, the advanced specialist level covering the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model, capability rating and formal assessment reporting. Implementation is recommended before Assessor. Verify current Assessor prerequisites at peoplecert.org.

    Pricing

What is included in the COBIT 5 Implementation course fee?

The training fee typically includes syllabus-aligned courseware, industry case studies, mock exams and practice questions, learner support and a course completion certificate. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. Request a quote for the current details.

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in Macedonia?

Pricing varies by delivery format and whether the exam voucher is bundled, so training in Macedonia is quoted on request. Speak with a learning advisor for current pricing and any group or corporate options.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

The exam is delivered through PeopleCert, and voucher inclusion depends on the package you choose. PeopleCert pricing varies by region and channel. Confirm what is bundled when you request a quote.

Do you offer group or corporate rates for teams?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for IT governance, risk and PMO teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing exam of 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted. It is delivered online proctored via PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorised test centre.

How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

You have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes). The passing score is 50%, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available.

What are the prerequisites for the exam?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. Candidates who do not hold Foundation must take and pass it before sitting the Implementation exam, as Foundation knowledge is assumed throughout.

What topics does the exam cover?

Four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement. Each topic is examined by one 20-mark scenario question.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert. Our trainers provide guidance to help you clear the certification on your first attempt, and re-sit policies and fees are confirmed at the point of booking with PeopleCert.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the COBIT 5 Implementation course?

You will learn to build the governance business case, apply the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, run the change enablement cycle, manage the improvement programme and benefits, and embed continuous improvement, plus open-book exam technique for the two permitted references.

What are the seven phases of the implementation lifecycle?

Phase 1 what are the drivers, Phase 2 where are we now, Phase 3 where do we want to be, Phase 4 what needs to be done, Phase 5 how do we get there, Phase 6 did we get there, and Phase 7 how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is a continuous improvement cycle.

Is the courseware aligned with the current syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and the COBIT 5 framework, covering all four topic areas at application level.

How long is the training and how is it delivered?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically over 2 full days or 4 half-days. It is delivered as live virtual instructor-led training, onsite classroom, or customised corporate group training.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before this course?

Yes. Foundation is the mandatory prerequisite and its concepts, the five principles, seven enablers and process reference model, are assumed rather than re-taught. Hold Foundation before you attend.
