How many questions are in the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total. You have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. Each question maps to one of the four topic areas.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50%, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Focus on applying the lifecycle, change enablement and programme management rather than memorising, since it is scenario based.

Which books are permitted in the open-book exam?

Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted. No other materials are allowed, so efficient navigation of both books is a skill the training helps you build.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

They are: what are the drivers; where are we now; where do we want to be; what needs to be done; how do we get there; did we get there; and how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-off project.

What is the COBIT 5 change enablement cycle?

It is a five-component cycle that runs alongside the implementation lifecycle: awareness and communication, desire and willingness, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement. It recognises that governance improvement is as much a people challenge as a technical one.

Do I need prior experience or COBIT 5 Foundation?

You must hold COBIT 5 Foundation before sitting the Implementation exam, and Foundation knowledge is assumed in class. Practical governance or IT experience helps, but there is no formal work-experience requirement.
