COBIT 5 Assessor training helps IT governance and audit professionals move from performing reviews to leading formal capability assessments. The course suits IT auditors, GRC specialists, governance managers and consultants who want to measure process capability objectively. Whether you are formalising your assessment authority, stepping up from Foundation and Implementation, or supporting assurance in banking, fintech or a Riga business services centre, this training builds capability aligned with what regulated employers expect.

If you want to lead assessments with a globally recognised credential, the Assessor level is a clear next step. You gain deep PAM knowledge, hands-on rating practice and a structured path to the PeopleCert exam that employers across Latvia and the Nordics value.

COBIT 5 Assessor group training helps organisations build a repeatable, evidence-based way to measure IT governance capability. The training can be delivered for internal audit functions, GRC teams or governance leadership groups. For organisations facing DORA, NIS2 and rising assurance expectations, this training creates a shared assessment language and reduces reliance on external assessors.

If your teams review governance inconsistently, Assessor training gives them the COBIT 5 PAM, a common rating scale and a defensible reporting method. Senior teams gain a standardised approach to capability assessment and improvement planning.

    • Builds an in-house capability to assess IT governance against a recognised model
    • Supports DORA, NIS2 and internal-audit assurance with objective, repeatable ratings

IT Governance and Audit Careers in LatviaRoles, Demand and Pay

COBIT 5 Assessor skills are increasingly valued across Latvia, where DORA and the National Cybersecurity Law have pushed banks, fintechs and Riga's global business services centres to prove IT governance capability objectively. Demand sits at the specialist end, from IT auditor and GRC specialist to IT audit manager and head of IT security, where certified assessors remain scarce against a deep pool of general IT auditors. Why IT Governance Assessment Is in Demand in Latvia

    DORA Assurance Pressure

DORA obliges financial entities supervised by Latvijas Banka to prove ICT risk governance, and objective capability assessment is exactly the evidence supervisors and boards now expect.

Assessor skills support digital operational resilience

    National Cybersecurity Law in Scope

Latvia's National Cybersecurity Law brings an estimated 6,000 to 8,000 organisations into scope, creating steady demand for professionals who can assess and report governance maturity.

    Assessors help demonstrate governance controls

    Riga GBS Governance Complexity

Around 50 global business services centres in Riga run regulated Nordic and EU work, demanding consistent, model-based assessment of IT governance across many client processes.

    Assessors bring repeatable capability ratings

    Assessor Talent Scarcity

Latvia has a deep pool of IT auditors but few certified capability assessors. The Assessor level and its ISO/IEC 15504 alignment make holders rare and sought-after.

The credential makes certified assessors stand out

    From Opinion to Evidence

Boards and regulators want repeatable, evidence-based findings rather than opinion. The COBIT 5 PAM gives Latvian organisations a defensible, comparable rating method.

The PAM replaces subjective reviews with ratings

    Parallel Audit Regimes

With DORA and NIS2 audits now running in parallel across Latvia's financial sector, organisations need a single, consistent way to assess governance capability rather than duplicating effort.

Assessors bring one consistent capability view

The COBIT 5 Assessor credential is more than a qualification. It positions you as the specialist who can measure IT governance capability objectively in a regulated market. Start your journey today.

    General

What is the COBIT 5 Assessor certification?

COBIT 5 Assessor is the highest-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to plan, conduct, rate and report formal process capability assessments using the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM), which is aligned to ISO/IEC 15504.

Who should take COBIT 5 Assessor training in Latvia?

It suits IT auditors, IT governance consultants, GRC specialists and governance managers who conduct or lead capability assessments. In Latvia it is especially relevant to banks, fintechs and Riga's global business services centres facing DORA and NIS2 assurance demands.

Why choose Invensis Learning for this training?

Invensis Learning is a PeopleCert Authorized Training Provider delivering the 16-hour COBIT 5 Assessor course. You get PeopleCert-authorised trainers, aligned courseware, practice questions and flexible live virtual, onsite or one-to-one delivery.

Is the Assessor credential recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the Assessor level is its highest specialist qualification. The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries, so the credential travels well across the EU and beyond.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Assessor?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required, and COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended before the Assessor level. The Assessor course assumes Foundation and Implementation knowledge and does not reteach it.

    Pricing

How much does COBIT 5 Assessor training cost in Latvia?

Fees are quoted in euros and are available on request, as pricing varies by delivery format and whether the PeopleCert exam is bundled. Request a quote and a learning advisor will confirm the current price for your chosen format.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes aligned courseware, case studies, mock questions, learner support and a course completion certificate. Many packages also include the PeopleCert Assessor exam voucher; confirm this when you enrol.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

It depends on the package. PeopleCert bills the exam separately unless it is bundled into your training. Ask about a combined training and exam option, and talk to a learning advisor for the current figures.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for internal audit, GRC and governance teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

It is an open-book, objective examination of 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

How many questions are there and how long is the exam?

The exam has 8 questions worth 80 marks in total, and you have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. It is based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version).

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50%, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Questions require specialist analysis and professional judgement, so efficient use of the open-book materials matters.

How is the exam delivered in Latvia?

You can sit it online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Both options use the same open-book format and permitted materials.

What can I bring into the open-book exam?

Only two references are allowed: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are permitted, so practising fast navigation of both is part of the preparation.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can resit the exam through PeopleCert; verify the current resit policy and any fee at peoplecert.org. Our trainers provide guidance and mock questions to help you prepare thoroughly for a first-time pass.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the COBIT 5 Assessor course?

You learn to plan, conduct, rate and report formal capability assessments. The course covers the PAM, the six capability levels, the nine process attributes, the four-point rating scale, evidence management and assessment reporting.

What does the COBIT 5 PAM cover?

The Process Assessment Model has two dimensions: the process dimension (the 37 COBIT 5 processes that define what is assessed) and the capability dimension (six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising that define how well each is performed).

What are the six capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each is assessed through process attributes and the four-point rating scale.

What is the four-point rating scale?

Attributes are rated Not Achieved (0 to 15%), Partially Achieved (15 to 50%), Largely Achieved (50 to 85%) or Fully Achieved (85 to 100%). The pattern of attribute ratings determines the overall capability level for each process.

How long is the training and what materials are provided?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically over two days, and can be delivered full-day or half-day. You receive aligned courseware, realistic case studies, mock questions and learner support throughout.

    Enrollment

Do I need prior certification to enrol in the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but to sit the exam you must hold COBIT 5 Foundation, with Implementation recommended. If you are working towards the full scheme, an advisor can help you plan the right order.

How do I enrol in the course?

Enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

What training formats are available online and in person?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, onsite classroom training, one-to-one sessions and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule in Latvia.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or move to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
