What Is Quality Function Deployment?UntitledA Customer-Driven Design Method

Quality Function Deployment Training in Kuwait equips professionals to translate customer requirements into precise design specifications using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology. QFD is a structured, customer-driven planning method that carries the Voice of the Customer through every stage of product and service development, built around the House of Quality matrix. Developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, QFD is applied across manufacturing, petrochemicals, healthcare, software and service design. In Kuwait, where industry is diversifying under Vision 2035, it helps product, quality and engineering teams design what customers genuinely need rather than what teams assume. This one-day programme takes you from capturing the Voice of the Customer to building and interpreting the House of Quality, cascading requirements through the four QFD phases, and applying QFD within Six Sigma and service design. Start building a practical, customer-driven design skill with Invensis Learning.

    Diversifying Beyond Oil

Kuwait Vision 2035 pushes non-oil industries and new products, so teams need a structured way to translate market needs into design specifications, which QFD provides end to end.

    QFD structures customer-driven product design

    Voice of the Customer Gaps

Products and services often reflect what engineers assume rather than what customers need. QFD closes that gap by capturing, weighting and tracing the Voice of the Customer.

QFD builds structured VOC translation skills

    Petrochemical Product Innovation

As EQUATE and PIC invest in new polymer blends and grades, QFD helps convert customer and market specifications into measurable engineering characteristics and targets.

QFD links specifications to engineering targets

    Rising Quality-System Expectations

ISO 9001 and customer audits demand traceable design decisions. The House of Quality gives teams an auditable trail from customer requirement to engineering specification.

    QFD documents requirements to specification

    Service and Experience Pressure

Banks, telecom and healthcare in Kuwait compete on experience. QFD translates service requirements into delivery standards, process parameters and quality controls.

QFD translates service needs into standards

    Costly Late-Stage Redesign

Reworking designs after launch is expensive. QFD surfaces conflicts and trade-offs early through the correlation roof, cutting iterations and shortening time to market.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

QFD is a structured, customer-driven method for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific technical and engineering characteristics at every stage of product or service development. Developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, its central tool is the House of Quality matrix.

Who should attend the QFD training in Kuwait?

The training suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, R&D and new product development professionals, marketing professionals, and Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt practitioners who translate customer requirements into product or service specifications.

Is QFD training worth it for my career in Kuwait?

Yes. QFD is a practical, cross-industry skill valued across Kuwait's manufacturing, petrochemical, consumer goods and service sectors, where employers increasingly want teams that design around real customer needs rather than internal assumptions.

Do I need prior experience to learn QFD?

No. The course has no prerequisites. Familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not required, as QFD concepts and the House of Quality are taught from first principles.

How long is the QFD training and what format is it?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours) and covers all six QFD modules with hands-on House of Quality exercises. It is available in live online, classroom and onsite corporate formats. There is no formal test.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning and, more importantly, practical QFD skills you can apply immediately. There is no formal test and no external credential attached to the training.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in Kuwait?

Fees vary by delivery mode, group size and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share the current options for individuals and teams in Kuwait.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically covers instructor-led training, QFD courseware, hands-on House of Quality exercises, templates and worked examples, and learner support before, during and after the programme.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. Corporate group training comes with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for design, quality and product teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

Are there any additional or hidden costs?

No. Because this is a practical skills programme, there is no separate test or membership fee. The training fee covers the instruction and learning materials described in your plan.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

How is learning assessed in the QFD training?

Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team activities rather than a formal test. There is no pass mark; you build and interpret QFD matrices during the programme itself.

Do I earn a formal qualification or credential?

This is a practical, skills-based programme, so no external credential is awarded. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning and immediately usable QFD and House of Quality skills.

Is QFD linked to any governing or awarding body?

No. QFD is an established methodology with no single awarding body. The training is grounded in the recognised QFD body of knowledge and the House of Quality method used across industries worldwide.

Will I be able to use QFD at work straight away?

Yes. You build a full House of Quality during the course and can apply Voice of the Customer capture, the Kano model and the four-phase cascade to your own projects immediately afterwards.

Does QFD support Six Sigma or DFSS work?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in the Design for Six Sigma DMADV Measure phase and the DMAIC Define phase, translating customer requirements into critical-to-quality characteristics and project scope.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD training cover?

The course covers six modules: QFD principles and business case, the Voice of the Customer, building the House of Quality, interpreting the House of Quality, the four-phase QFD cascade, and QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It has six rooms: customer requirements, engineering characteristics, the relationship matrix, the correlation roof, competitive benchmarking and engineering targets.

Does the course cover the Voice of the Customer and Kano model?

Yes. You learn VOC data collection, affinity diagrams, the three-level requirement hierarchy, Kano classification into must-be, performance and delighter needs, and importance weighting methods.

Is the training practical or theory-based?

It is highly practical. Hands-on House of Quality construction from realistic product and service scenarios runs throughout the one-day programme, so you apply each tool as you learn it.

Does QFD apply to services and software as well as products?

Yes. The course covers QFD for services such as healthcare, financial services and IT, and for software, as well as manufacturing product development. The method applies wherever customer needs become design specifications.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured QFD courseware, House of Quality templates, worked examples and case studies that support the hands-on exercises and help you apply the method after the training.

How do I enrol in the QFD training in Kuwait?

Can the training be delivered onsite for my team in Kuwait?
