Who governs the DevOps Foundation certification?

The certification is awarded by the DevOps Institute, a global professional body, and delivered in partnership with PeopleCert. The exam is based on the DevOps Foundation Body of Knowledge and the current DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint.

Is DevOps Foundation worth it in South Korea?

Yes. With the government moving about 10,000 public systems to cloud-native platforms by 2030 and employers such as Naver, Kakao and Samsung SDS scaling engineering teams, foundational DevOps knowledge is in strong demand and a recognised first step toward higher-paying DevOps roles.

Do I need any prior experience to take DevOps Foundation?

No. DevOps Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of education, experience or prior DevOps knowledge. Basic familiarity with IT concepts is helpful but not required.

How long is the DevOps Foundation certification valid?

The credential is valid for three years. To renew, you earn the required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education activities within each three-year cycle.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

What is the format of the DevOps Foundation exam?

The DevOps Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint. It covers six topic areas spanning DevOps foundations, practices, Agile and ITSM, the delivery pipeline, automation and culture.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and you are given 60 minutes (one hour) to complete it.

What is the passing score for DevOps Foundation?

The passing score is 65%, which means you must answer at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly.

Where can I take the DevOps Foundation exam?

You can sit the exam online through PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring from home or the office, or at an authorised test centre. The exam is typically arranged as part of your training and exam bundle.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the DevOps Foundation exam. Our trainers provide first-attempt guidance, mock exams and practice questions to help you prepare thoroughly. Confirm the current re-sit policy and any fees with a learning advisor.

What topics does the DevOps Foundation training cover?

The course covers the six areas of the DevOps Foundation Body of Knowledge: DevOps foundations, DevOps concepts and practices, Agile, ITSM and Lean IT, the continuous delivery pipeline, automation and tooling, and DevOps culture and organisation.

Will I learn about CI/CD, DORA metrics and the Three Ways?

Yes. The training explains Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, the four DORA metrics, the Three Ways of Flow, Feedback and Continual Learning, and the CALMS framework, along with tooling such as Git, Docker and Kubernetes at an awareness level.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, mock exams and case studies mapped to the 40-question exam format, so you can identify weak areas and build confidence before exam day.

Is the courseware aligned to the current DevOps Foundation syllabus?

Yes. The accredited courseware is aligned to the current DevOps Foundation Body of Knowledge and the DevOps Foundation Exam Blueprint published by the DevOps Institute.

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. DevOps Foundation is designed as an entry point, so beginners are welcome. There are no prerequisites, and the trainer builds concepts from first principles with practical examples.
