What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

The exam has four objective test questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total. It is an open-book exam that permits only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide, and questions require scenario-based analysis.

How long is the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

You have two and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete the exam. Because it is open book with only four scenario questions, efficient navigation of the permitted materials and sound judgment both matter under the time limit.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50 percent, which means 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Each of the four questions carries 20 marks, so broad command across all topic areas is important.

Which books are allowed in the open-book exam?

Only two references are permitted: the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide. No other materials are allowed, so training includes practice in navigating both efficiently under exam conditions.

How is the COBIT 5 Implementation exam delivered?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either through OnVUE online proctoring available around the clock or at authorised test centres. You can sit it from home or office, or at a centre convenient to you in India.

What if I do not pass the first time?

The phases are: what are the drivers, where are we now, where do we want to be, what needs to be done, how do we get there, did we get there, and how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-off project.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before this course?

Yes. COBIT 5 Foundation is the mandatory prerequisite and its concepts are assumed, not re-taught. If you do not yet hold Foundation, complete it first so you can focus on applying the framework during Implementation training.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version), built on the COBIT 5 framework, so what you learn maps directly to the four examined topic areas and the open-book format.
