Why the COBIT 5 Assessor Credential Pays OffValue for Professionals and Employers

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

The Assessor credential is the specialist qualification for IT governance and audit professionals in Israel who want to conduct formal, evidence-based process capability assessments. It sits at the top of the COBIT 5 scheme, above Foundation and Implementation. Whether you audit for a bank, advise clients as a consultant, or lead governance self-assessments in-house, the training builds the assessment competency that regulated Israeli employers increasingly expect.

If you want to prove you can measure governance capability objectively and not just review it, this is a clear next step. You gain the PAM knowledge, rating discipline and reporting skill that senior assessment roles demand.

    • Confirms specialist competency to plan, conduct and report formal COBIT 5 process capability assessments
    • Positions you for senior IT audit, GRC and IT governance roles across Israel's regulated sectors
    • Builds working fluency in the COBIT 5 PAM, the six capability levels and the nine process attributes
    • Adds an ISO/IEC 15504-aligned assessment skill that travels across organisations and jurisdictions
    • Completes the COBIT 5 qualification scheme at its highest specialist level
    • Strengthens your credibility with boards, regulators and external auditors
    • Sharpens your evidence gathering, rating and reporting judgement for real assessment scenarios
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group training equips audit, risk and governance teams with a shared, repeatable method for assessing IT process capability. It can be delivered for internal audit functions, GRC teams or PMOs. For organisations that must evidence governance capability to regulators and clients, structured assessor training creates a consistent, defensible assessment approach.

If your teams run inconsistent, ad hoc reviews, COBIT 5 Assessor training gives them one ISO/IEC 15504-aligned language for capability, rating and reporting, so findings are comparable and improvement plans are grounded in evidence.

    • Builds in-house capability to measure IT governance maturity objectively
    • Standardises assessment practice across audit, risk and PMO teams
    • Supports compliance evidence for Bank of Israel and National Cyber Directorate expectations
    • Turns governance gaps into prioritised, evidence-based improvement plans
    • Enables customised delivery aligned to your control environment
    • Develops assessor benches for recurring capability reviews
    • Improves the comparability of assessments across business units

Governance Pressures Fuelling Assessor Demand in Israel

COBIT 5 Assessor builds formal assessment skills

    Banking and Insurance Oversight

Bank of Israel guidance and PSD2-style rules push financial services, the largest slice of security spend, to prove IT control effectiveness through structured, defensible capability assessment.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds evidence and rating discipline

    Sovereign Cloud Migration

Project Nimbus mandates that national workloads move to sovereign cloud regions by 2026, driving ISO 27001 compliance and demand for governance professionals who can assess process maturity at scale.

    Scarce Specialist Assessors

Israel has a deep IT audit pool but few credentialed COBIT 5 assessors. The advanced qualification and open-book specialist exam make holders rare, sought-after and hard to replace.

    From Evidence to Clear Ratings

"Coming from a GRC background, the six capability levels and the four-point rating scale were the most useful part. I can now translate messy evidence into a clear capability profile that my managers actually trust and act on."

Why choose Invensis Learning for COBIT 5 Assessor training in Israel?

Is the COBIT 5 Assessor certification recognised in Israel?

Yes. COBIT is a globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the Assessor credential is delivered through PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries. It is valued by Israeli banks, insurers, hi-tech firms, defence groups and public bodies for specialist IT audit, GRC and governance assessment roles.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Assessor?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is the mandatory prerequisite. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, and the Assessor exam assumes both Foundation and Implementation knowledge. Practical experience in IT audit or governance assessment is strongly recommended.

How does COBIT 5 Assessor differ from COBIT 5 Implementation?

Implementation validates your ability to plan and manage a governance improvement programme using the seven-phase lifecycle. Assessor validates the specialist ability to conduct formal capability assessments using the PAM and ISO/IEC 15504. Implementation covers governance delivery; Assessor covers governance measurement.

Is the COBIT 5 Assessor certification worth it?

Yes, if you want to specialise in IT governance assessment. In Israel, GRC and governance roles run from around ₪187,000 to ₪366,000 for security managers and higher for CISO-track leaders. As regulators tighten oversight, credentialed assessors who can measure capability objectively are increasingly sought after.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The exam is an open-book, objective test of 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted. It is delivered by PeopleCert.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

There are 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, and you have two and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete the paper. All 8 questions are scored, giving 80 marks in total.

What is the passing score for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The pass mark is 50%. You need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available to pass. Because it is open book at application and analysis level, efficient navigation of the permitted materials matters as much as knowledge.

Which materials are permitted in the open-book exam?

Only two documents are permitted: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are allowed, so practising fast navigation of both is part of the training.

How is the COBIT 5 Assessor exam delivered in Israel?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either through the OnVUE online proctored system, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. You can sit it from your home or office or at a centre convenient to you.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam. Re-sit fees and the specific policy are set by PeopleCert and should be verified at peoplecert.org before booking. Our training includes mock exams and scenario practice to help you prepare thoroughly for your first attempt.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Assessor training cover?

The programme covers all five syllabus areas: overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the Process Assessment Model, capability levels and process attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting, at application and analysis level.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM)?

The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 process capability. It has two dimensions: the process dimension (the 37 COBIT 5 processes) and the capability dimension (six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising), assessed through nine process attributes.

What are the six COBIT 5 capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each is assessed through process attributes rated on a four-point scale: Not, Partially, Largely and Fully Achieved.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before this course?

Yes. COBIT 5 Foundation is required, and Foundation knowledge (the five principles, seven enablers and process reference model) is assumed and not retaught. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, as the Assessor exam builds on both prior levels.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to the 2024 Assessor Syllabus, industry-driven case studies on assessment planning, evidence gathering, rating and reporting, practice questions and mock exams to build readiness for the open-book paper.
