    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam is an open-book, multiple-choice test taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete the course. It is based on the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the Scrum Guide, and needs no proctor.

    How many questions are on the CSM exam and how long is it?

    The CSM exam has 50 questions and a time limit of 60 minutes. It is delivered online and is open book, so you can refer to materials during the test.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    You need 74 per cent to pass, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The course and included practice questions prepare you to clear this comfortably.

    What if I do not pass the CSM exam the first time?

    There is no need to worry. Candidates typically get three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing the course, and our exam preparation is designed to help you pass on the first attempt. Verify the current attempt policy on the Scrum Alliance portal.

    When can I take the CSM exam after the course?

    Once you complete the CST-led course, the online exam is unlocked in your Scrum Alliance member portal, and you have 90 days to sit it. Because it is online and open book, you can take it at a time that suits you.
