    Is PMP required before PgMP?

    No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

    What are the eligibility requirements for PgMP?

    There are three sets. Set A: a secondary diploma plus 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) and 84 months of programme management experience. Set B: a bachelor's degree plus 48 months of project (or PMP) and 48 months of programme experience. Set C uses a GAC-accredited degree with 36 months each. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

    How long is the PgMP certification valid?

    PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

    What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

    Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The exam is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition.

    What is the PgMP panel review?

    The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

    What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

    PMI allows up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our preparation, mock exams and revision support are designed to help you pass with confidence.
