Azure DevOps has a free tier for up to five users at dev.azure.com, and Azure usage during exercises may incur small charges. You should have access to an Azure subscription and organisation for the labs. We can advise on setup before the session.

Assessment

Is there an exam for this Azure DevOps course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises throughout the programme rather than a formal test.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. It recognises the practical Azure DevOps skills you have built, which are immediately applicable at work.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each Azure DevOps service through practical exercises, such as building a pipeline, writing a Bicep template and setting up monitoring, so you learn by doing.

Will this course complement further Azure learning?

Yes. The practical skills you gain in CI/CD, infrastructure as code and cloud operations give you a strong hands-on foundation on the Azure platform that supports your ongoing learning and day-to-day engineering work.

Do the skills expire or need renewal?

Course Content

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

The course spans the full delivery lifecycle on Azure: source control with Azure Repos, CI/CD with Azure Pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, package management with Azure Artifacts, test management with Azure Test Plans, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers with ACR and AKS, and monitoring with Azure Monitor.

What will I learn to do with Azure Pipelines?

You will build YAML pipelines that automatically compile, test and deploy code, using triggers, stages, jobs, tasks and reusable templates. You also learn multi-stage delivery to environments such as Azure App Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code?

Yes. You learn to provision Azure infrastructure with ARM templates and Bicep, deploy it from Azure Pipelines, and keep environments consistent and version-controlled. This is a core, hands-on part of the programme.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on Azure DevOps exercises run throughout the day. You follow along in the Azure DevOps portal and Azure CLI, building repositories, pipelines, infrastructure templates and monitoring dashboards as the trainer demonstrates each service.

Do I need my own Azure account for the labs?

You should have access to an Azure subscription and an Azure DevOps organisation, with a free tier available at dev.azure.com for up to five users. We can confirm whether a shared training environment is provided for your session.
