What Is Driving Demand for Risk Professionals in Paris

    Mega-Programme Complexity

The Grand Paris Express, one of Europe's largest rail programmes, spans multiple lines and contractors, demanding portfolio-grade risk identification, aggregation and response at scale that certified specialists are hired to lead.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and coordination skills

    High-Consequence Energy Projects

EDF's nuclear new-build and the wider energy transition run long, capital-heavy projects where structured risk analysis is essential. Employers need professionals who can model uncertainty and safeguard delivery.

PMI-RMP builds quantitative risk analysis skills

    Tightening Financial Regulation

Paris banks and insurers face rising Basel and Solvency expectations, pushing project risk governance up the agenda. Certified risk leaders help translate regulatory pressure into controlled programme delivery.

PMI-RMP builds governance and reporting skills

    Value Leakage on Capital Spend

Boards approve large transformation and infrastructure budgets, but weak risk response lets threats erode returns. Organisations increasingly recruit specialists who can protect value across the project lifecycle.

PMI-RMP builds threat and opportunity response skills

    Risk Talent Scarcity

France has a deep pool of project managers but far fewer credentialed risk specialists. PMI-RMP's experience-based eligibility and specialist focus make holders comparatively rare and in demand.

PMI-RMP makes certified specialists stand out

    Agile and Hybrid Delivery Shift

As Paris employers move to agile and hybrid ways of working, risk management must adapt beyond predictive plans. The current ECO covers all three approaches, matching how modern programmes actually run.

Skills covered in PMI-RMP training span the full risk lifecycle defined by the January 2022 Examination Content Outline. By the end of the programme you can set risk strategy, identify and analyse risk, plan effective responses, and monitor and close risks with confidence.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities

Facilitate structured identification using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, SWOT, prompt lists and assumption analysis, then document clear cause-risk-effect entries in a complete, validated risk register.

    Analyse Risk Qualitatively and Quantitatively

Apply the probability and impact matrix, then move to Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to prioritise risks and model their effect on cost and schedule.

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Develop response strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept), assign owners, set triggers, and build contingency and fallback plans into the project.

    Monitor and Close Risks

Track residual and secondary risks, run periodic risk reviews, report exposure to stakeholders and governance bodies, and formally close risks while capturing lessons learned for future programmes.

Prepare for the 115-Question PMI-RMP Exam

Consolidate all five domains with practice questions mapped to the January 2022 ECO, learn to read scenario-based items, and manage your time confidently across the 2.5-hour closed-book exam.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Yes. PMI-RMP is a globally recognised PMI credential that validates specialist project risk expertise, which Paris employers in construction, energy, banking and aerospace increasingly seek. Risk manager roles in the city average around 96,700 euros a year, and certified specialists remain comparatively rare, so the credential can strengthen both your prospects and your earning power.

    General

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Paris?

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential for professionals who identify, assess, respond to and monitor project risk. It suits project risk managers, senior project managers, risk consultants and PMO analysts who want to prove advanced risk competency beyond general project management.

Is PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both, as the two credentials complement each other, but PMI-RMP stands on its own as a risk specialism.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the renewal fee to PMI.

Which standard is the training based on?

The training is aligned to PMI's current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline (ECO) effective January 2022, together with the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the current PMBOK Guide. It covers predictive, agile and hybrid risk management.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Paris?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so the exact price for classroom or live virtual delivery in Paris is available on request. Fees typically include courseware, practice questions, mock exams and application guidance. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The fee generally includes PMI-aligned courseware mapped to the five ECO domains, practice questions and mock exams for the 115-question format, downloadable templates, application and eligibility guidance, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Ask us for the full inclusions on your chosen plan.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, the exam is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, and membership can lower both the exam and renewal costs. Confirm current fees on the PMI website before applying.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for risk functions, PMOs and delivery teams across Paris. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes mock exams and prep support to build readiness before you sit, and reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Confirm current amounts on the PMI website.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions based on the January 2022 Examination Content Outline.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

There are five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%), and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). The training covers all five with practice mapped to each.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, including centres in Paris and across France. You schedule it within your one-year eligibility period after your application is approved.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this training or do I need experience?

Anyone can enrol in the training, and it is a strong way to earn the risk management education hours PMI requires. To sit the exam, however, PMI expects prior project risk management experience, so the credential itself is aimed at practitioners, not complete beginners.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five ECO domains: risk strategy and planning, identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, response planning and implementation, and monitoring and closing risks, plus exam strategy and application guidance.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-RMP ECO and Handbook, practice question banks, full-length mock exams, templates and quizzes to reinforce each domain and build exam readiness.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour risk management education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates (secondary diploma) need 40 hours and should supplement with additional study.

Is the courseware aligned to the current exam outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, covering risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website, choose a format and complete payment to receive access to schedules and courseware. New live virtual and classroom batches run regularly. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to pick a start date.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three routes: Set A (secondary diploma plus 36 months of risk experience and 40 education hours), Set B (bachelor's degree plus 24 months and 30 hours) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months and 30 hours). Experience must be within the last five years.

What training formats are available in Paris?

We offer live virtual instructor-led training (online), classroom sessions and customised corporate group training. You can choose the format that best fits your schedule and learning preference.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
