What Is the COBIT 5 Implementation Certification?UntitledYour Route to Leading Governance Programmes

COBIT 5 Implementation Certification Training in France prepares IT governance professionals to plan, lead and sustain a governance improvement programme using the COBIT 5 framework. The COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) credential is the intermediate level of the COBIT 5 scheme, sitting above Foundation, and it validates your ability to apply the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement in a real organisational context. The course is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and prepares you for the open-book examination delivered by PeopleCert, either online proctored through OnVUE or at an authorised test centre. The exam sets four scenario-based questions of 20 marks each, giving 80 marks in total, with a pass mark of 50 per cent, and permits only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide. COBIT 5 Foundation is the required prerequisite before you sit the Implementation exam. For professionals in France, this credential is timely. With the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and NIS2 raising the bar for ICT governance across banking, insurance and critical sectors, employers increasingly seek practitioners who can turn governance intent into a delivered, measurable programme. Start your COBIT 5 journey with Invensis Learning and move from awareness to applied governance leadership.

What Is Driving COBIT 5 Governance Demand in France

    DORA Resilience Pressure

French banks and insurers must demonstrate named decision authorities and tested escalation paths under DORA. The COBIT 5 implementation approach gives leaders the structured lifecycle to deliver that governance.

COBIT 5 builds the governance lifecycle skills DORA expects

    Policy to Practice Gap

Many organisations hold governance policies that never become working practice. COBIT 5 Implementation is built to close that gap, moving from current-state assessment to a delivered, embedded improvement programme.

COBIT 5 turns framework knowledge into a delivered programme

    Governance Talent Scarcity

France has deep project management talent but far fewer professionals who can lead governance improvement. The Foundation prerequisite and applied exam make Implementation holders comparatively rare.

Certified implementation leads stand out in the French market

    Overlapping Regulation

Teams juggle DORA, NIS2, ISO 27001 and GDPR obligations separately. COBIT is widely used to translate these overlapping duties into a single control architecture, which implementation leads are hired to build.

COBIT 5 unifies DORA, NIS2, ISO 27001 and GDPR controls

    Change Adoption Failure

Governance initiatives fail on adoption, not design. The COBIT 5 change enablement cycle equips leaders to manage awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement so improvements actually stick.

COBIT 5 builds change enablement and stakeholder skills

    Sustaining Governance Maturity

Maturity often slips once a programme ends and resources withdraw. Continuous improvement techniques help organisations keep momentum and build self-sustaining, in-house governance capability.

COBIT 5 embeds continuous improvement as a discipline

COBIT 5 Implementation is more than a credential. It is a career multiplier for governance professionals in France. Join practitioners who turn governance policy into delivered outcomes and lead improvement at scale. Start your journey today.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme, validating your ability to plan and lead a governance improvement programme using the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement. It is designed for IT governance managers, GRC and IT risk professionals, consultants and enterprise architects.

    General

What is the COBIT 5 Implementation certification and who is it for?

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme, validating your ability to plan and lead a governance improvement programme using the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement. It is designed for IT governance managers, GRC and IT risk professionals, consultants and enterprise architects.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it for professionals in France?

Yes. With DORA and NIS2 raising ICT governance expectations across French banking, insurance and critical sectors, employers increasingly seek practitioners who can deliver governance improvement, not just describe the framework. Certified implementation leads are comparatively scarce, which supports strong demand and senior salary bands.

Why choose Invensis Learning for COBIT 5 Implementation training?

Invensis Learning offers training aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version), experienced trainers, flexible delivery and practice materials to prepare you for the PeopleCert exam. As an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 certified provider, we hold delivery to international standards.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the Implementation credential is valued by employers worldwide for governance programme leadership, consulting and GRC roles. Exams are delivered by PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries.

How does COBIT 5 Implementation differ from COBIT 5 Foundation?

Foundation validates knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework at awareness level and is a closed-book exam. Implementation is open book and validates your ability to apply the implementation lifecycle, change enablement and programme management to realistic governance scenarios. Foundation is the prerequisite for Implementation.

    Pricing

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in France?

Training is usually purchased as a combined training and exam package, and the price varies by format and provider. For a tailored quote in euros, including live virtual or corporate options, request a quote and a learning advisor will confirm current pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes syllabus-aligned courseware, case studies, practice questions and mock exams, learner support and, in most packages, the PeopleCert exam voucher. Confirm exact inclusions when you request a quote.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

In most authorised training packages the PeopleCert exam voucher is bundled with the training, but this varies by package. PeopleCert pricing depends on region and channel, so confirm whether the exam is included when you request a quote.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing for COBIT 5 Implementation?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for governance, risk and GRC teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation in France.

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

The exam is open book and objective, with four scenario-based questions each worth 20 marks, giving 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted during the exam.

How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

You have two and a half hours, which is 150 minutes, to complete the four questions. The pass mark is 50 per cent, meaning you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available.

Are there prerequisites for the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

Yes. COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. Candidates who do not hold Foundation must take and pass it before sitting the Implementation exam, as Foundation knowledge is assumed throughout.

How and where do I sit the exam in France?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either online proctored through OnVUE, available around the clock, or at an authorised test centre. You book and schedule the exam through the official PeopleCert portal.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert; re-sit fees and policy are set by PeopleCert and vary by region, so confirm the current terms on the PeopleCert portal. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to help you prepare for a first-attempt pass.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation training cover?

The training covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all aligned to the 2022 syllabus and delivered at application level.

What are the seven phases of the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle?

They are: what are the drivers, where are we now, where do we want to be, what needs to be done, how do we get there, did we get there, and how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is a continuous improvement cycle, not a one-time project.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You must hold COBIT 5 Foundation, and the course suits practitioners who lead or support governance improvement. Foundation knowledge such as the five principles and seven enablers is assumed and not re-taught, so the training focuses on applying the framework.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, industry case studies illustrating the lifecycle and change enablement, practice questions and mock exams, and guidance on navigating the two permitted open-book references efficiently under exam conditions.

    How long is the training?

The instructor-led programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered as two full days or four half-days depending on the schedule format. It covers all four topic areas at application level and prepares you for the open-book exam.

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. A learning advisor can help you pick the right batch.

What training formats are available in France?

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly across live virtual and corporate formats. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next start date that suits you.
