Where IT Governance Skills Take You in FijiRoles, Demand and Pay

COBIT 5 Implementation has become a clear marker of IT governance leadership across Fiji, valued by telecoms, banks, government agencies and the growing BPO sector as they mature how they run and control IT. As the ICT sector expands toward a larger share of GDP and national digital services scale, employers increasingly want people who can govern change, manage improvement programmes and reduce IT risk. Demand runs from IT governance analyst up to IT manager and head of IT, and here is what the Fijian market is showing right now.

Why Fiji Employers Need Governance-Capable IT Leaders

    Rapid Digital Expansion

Fiji's National Digital Strategy, new submarine cables and e-government portals are scaling IT fast, but many organisations lack a structured way to govern that change, the exact gap COBIT 5 Implementation is built to close.

COBIT 5-I builds lifecycle and improvement skills

    IT Risk and Compliance Pressure

Banks, fintechs and the Reserve Bank of Fiji sandbox are raising expectations on IT risk and control. Governance-capable professionals who can embed COBIT 5 practices are increasingly sought after.

COBIT 5-I strengthens governance and risk skills

    BPO and Shared Services Growth

With the outsourcing base targeting 25,000 jobs, providers must prove strong IT governance to overseas clients. Structured improvement programmes are now a commercial requirement, not an optional extra.

COBIT 5-I builds programme management capability

    Governance Skills Scarcity

Fiji has a growing IT workforce but few professionals credentialed in enterprise IT governance. COBIT 5 Implementation, built on a Foundation prerequisite, makes holders rare and valuable in the local market.

COBIT 5-I makes certified leaders stand out

Sources: trade.gov Fiji ICT and Digital Economy guides; Outsource Accelerator, FBC News, Reserve Bank of Fiji 2026.

COBIT 5 Implementation is more than a credential. It is a career multiplier for governance and IT leaders. Join professionals in Fiji who plan, run and sustain IT governance improvement, and lead change with confidence. Start your journey today.

Why choose Invensis Learning for this training in Fiji?

Invensis Learning is a PeopleCert Authorised Training Provider offering courseware aligned to the 2022 exam syllabus, PeopleCert-authorised trainers, flexible delivery, and dedicated support. We help learners in Fiji move from COBIT 5 Foundation knowledge to applied governance leadership with a clear, supported path.

Is the COBIT 5 Implementation credential recognised in Fiji?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised framework for enterprise IT governance, and the Implementation credential is valued by employers across Fiji and worldwide, including telecoms, banks, government agencies and the growing BPO sector that need strong IT governance and risk control.

How is COBIT 5 Implementation different from Foundation?

Foundation validates knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework at awareness level and is a closed-book exam. Implementation is open book and validates your ability to apply the lifecycle, change enablement and programme management to realistic governance scenarios. Foundation is the required prerequisite for Implementation.

What career benefits does the credential offer?

COBIT 5 Implementation positions you for IT governance, GRC and IT management roles. In Fiji, IT Manager roles average around FJ$70,500 a year, with IT Director bands reaching far higher, and certified governance leaders are increasingly sought after as digital services scale.

    Pricing

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in Fiji?

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes syllabus-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions, mock exams, learner support and a course completion certificate. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package, so confirm this when you enrol.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth the investment?

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

The exam has four questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total, completed in 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is an open-book, objective-testing exam based on the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus, 2022 version, using scenario-based questions.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50%, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. The four questions each carry 20 marks, so aim for broad mastery across all four topic areas rather than focusing on one.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before the exam?

Yes. COBIT 5 Foundation certification is the required prerequisite. Foundation knowledge, including the five principles, seven enablers and process reference model, is assumed in the Implementation exam and is not re-taught during the course.

Which materials can I use in the open-book exam?

Only two references are permitted: the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide. No other materials are allowed, so learning to navigate both quickly is part of the exam preparation.

How and where is the exam delivered?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either online through the OnVUE proctoring system, available 24/7, or at authorised test centres. Learners in Fiji can sit the exam online from home or office once their training is complete.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert. Confirm the current re-sit policy and any fees when you book. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for a strong first attempt.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

The training covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all at application level, plus open-book exam technique and scenario practice.

What are the seven phases of the implementation lifecycle?

The phases are: what are the drivers; where are we now; where do we want to be; what needs to be done; how do we get there; did we get there; and how do we keep the momentum going. The lifecycle is designed as a continuous improvement cycle.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies illustrating the lifecycle and governance improvement, practice questions, mock exams and revision aids to help you prepare for the four-question, open-book exam.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. The course is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus, 2022 version, and to the COBIT 5 framework, covering the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement.

Do I need prior experience beyond Foundation?

There is no formal work-experience requirement, but the Implementation level is designed for people who lead or support IT governance improvement. You must hold COBIT 5 Foundation, and practical governance exposure helps you get the most from the scenario-based training.

    Enrollment

What are the requirements to enrol in the training?

Anyone can enrol in the training, but to sit the exam you must hold COBIT 5 Foundation certification. If you do not yet hold Foundation, you will need to take and pass it before attempting the Implementation exam.

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

What training formats are available in Fiji?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom sessions where available, and customised corporate group training. The 16-hour programme can run as two full days or four half-days, so you can pick the schedule that suits you.

How soon can I start and can I reschedule?

New batches run regularly, so you can usually start soon after enrolling. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. See upcoming schedules or contact support to arrange your preferred dates.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment before you book.
