    General

What is the COBIT 5 Assessor certification?

COBIT 5 Assessor is the highest-level qualification in the COBIT 5 certification scheme. It validates your ability to plan, conduct, rate and report formal process capability assessments using the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM), which is aligned to ISO/IEC 15504.

Is COBIT 5 Assessor worth it for IT professionals in Finland?

Yes. Finnish banks, telecoms, consultancies and public bodies increasingly need evidence-based IT governance assessment, especially under DORA and NIS2. Senior IT audit and governance roles in Finland reach around 85,000 to 110,000 euros, and qualified assessors are in short supply.

Who should take COBIT 5 Assessor training?

It suits IT auditors, IT governance consultants, GRC specialists and lead assessors who plan to run formal, evidence-based capability assessments. It also fits professionals who hold COBIT 5 Foundation and Implementation and want to complete the scheme at specialist level.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Assessor?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required before you can sit the assessor exam. COBIT 5 Implementation is strongly recommended, and the assessor exam assumes both Foundation and Implementation knowledge. No formal work experience is mandated, though assessment experience helps.

Is COBIT 5 Assessor recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is a globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the assessor credential is the highest level of the COBIT 5 scheme. Its ISO/IEC 15504 alignment gives assessments international credibility, and exams are delivered by PeopleCert in over 200 countries.

    Pricing

How much does COBIT 5 Assessor training cost in Finland?

Training is typically purchased as a combined training and exam package, and pricing varies by format and delivery mode. Exact fees for Finland are available on request. The PeopleCert exam fee is billed separately and varies by region. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes assessor-aligned courseware, scenario-based practice, mock questions, open-book exam technique and learner support. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. Talk to a learning advisor to confirm what is included in your enrolment.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for internal audit, GRC and IT governance teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The assessor exam is an open-book, objective test of 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

There are 8 questions per paper, each worth 10 marks, giving 80 marks in total. You have 2 and a half hours, or 150 minutes, to complete the open-book assessor exam.

What is the passing score for the assessor exam?

The pass mark is 50 percent. You need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available to pass. Because questions require analysis and professional judgement, focus on applying the PAM accurately rather than memorising content.

How is the COBIT 5 Assessor exam delivered?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, either online with 24/7 OnVUE proctoring or at an authorised test centre. You can sit it from home or office in Finland with a stable connection, or at a nearby test centre.

Which syllabus is the assessor exam based on?

The exam is based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version), which is built on the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model and aligned to ISO/IEC 15504. It tests application and analysis across five topic areas.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the assessor exam. Our training includes scenario practice and open-book technique to support a strong first attempt. Confirm the current re-sit policy and any re-examination fee with PeopleCert before rebooking.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the COBIT 5 Assessor course?

You will learn the five assessor topic areas: the overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the Process Assessment Model, capability levels and process attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM)?

The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 process capability. It has two dimensions: the process dimension, covering the 37 COBIT 5 processes, and the capability dimension, covering six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising.

What are the six COBIT 5 capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each is assessed through the nine process attributes and a four-point rating scale from Not Achieved to Fully Achieved.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation certification, and Implementation is recommended. This is an advanced specialist course that assumes Foundation and Implementation knowledge, so it is not suitable as a first COBIT 5 course for complete beginners.

How long is the COBIT 5 Assessor training?

The training is a 16-hour programme covering all five assessor topic areas. It is typically delivered over two full days, or as four half-day sessions, depending on the schedule you choose.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before enrolling?
