Who should take the SIAM Foundation course?

It suits IT service management professionals, service desk and service delivery managers, supplier and sourcing specialists, and ITIL holders moving into multi-supplier roles. There are no formal prerequisites, so it is open to anyone wanting to understand SIAM.

Do I need prior certifications before SIAM Foundation?

No. EXIN SIAM Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is the entry point to the EXIN SIAM scheme. Familiarity with basic ITSM concepts, such as from ITIL Foundation, is helpful but not required.

How long is the SIAM Foundation certification valid?

SIAM Foundation certification is valid for life. The credential does not expire and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement.

How does SIAM relate to ITIL?

SIAM and ITIL are complementary. ITIL provides the service management process framework, while SIAM adds the multi-supplier integration and governance layer above it. Most SIAM practitioners hold ITIL Foundation alongside SIAM Foundation.

How much does SIAM Foundation training cost in Estonia?

What is the format of the SIAM Foundation exam?

The EXIN SIAM Foundation exam is closed book with 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions. It is based on the EXIN SIAM Foundation Examination Specification and the Scopism SIAM Body of Knowledge.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 questions and a duration of 60 minutes. It is delivered online with EXIN proctoring or at an accredited test location.

What is the passing score for SIAM Foundation?

You need 65% to pass, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. Focus on broad understanding across all seven topic areas rather than one section.

What topics does the exam cover?

The exam spans seven areas: introduction to SIAM, the implementation roadmap, roles and responsibilities, SIAM practices, supporting processes, challenges and risks, and how SIAM works with other practices such as ITIL and COBIT.

What if I do not pass the exam first time?

You can re-sit the EXIN exam. Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance to prepare you, and your advisor can explain the current re-sit process and any fees.

Where can I take the SIAM Foundation exam?

You can take it online through EXIN's proctored exam system from home or the office, or at an accredited test location. It is often arranged as part of a training and exam bundle.

What will I learn in the SIAM Foundation course?

You will learn what SIAM is, the three-layer model, the four service integrator sourcing options, SIAM roles and governance, how ITSM processes are integrated across suppliers, and the practices, challenges and risks of running SIAM.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. There are no prerequisites, and the course starts from core concepts, so beginners and those new to SIAM can follow it. A basic awareness of IT service management helps but is not required.

What learning materials are provided?

You receive EXIN-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams and references to the Scopism SIAM Body of Knowledge, along with post-training support.

Is the course aligned to the current SIAM standard?

Yes. The courseware follows the current EXIN SIAM Foundation Examination Specification and the SIAM Body of Knowledge published by Scopism, so you study the material the exam is based on.

How long is the SIAM Foundation training?

The programme is typically delivered over 16 hours, arranged as two full days or four half-days, as exam preparation and foundational SIAM knowledge development.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning, and on passing the EXIN exam you receive the official EXIN SIAM Foundation certificate and digital badge.
