COBIT 5-I builds programme and governance skills

    GDPR and Data Protection Pressure

With Datatilsynet enforcing GDPR and fines reaching up to 4% of global revenue, Danish enterprises need mature, evidenced IT governance that the COBIT 5 lifecycle helps establish and sustain.

    COBIT 5-I builds governance-improvement capability

    Financial-Sector Resilience and DORA

Banks and insurers must demonstrate operational resilience under DORA, driving demand for leaders who can improve governance capability against a target state, not just document controls.

COBIT 5-I builds risk and continuous-improvement skills

From Framework Knowledge to Leading a Programme

"The training turned COBIT 5 from theory into something I could actually run. The seven-phase lifecycle and the change-enablement sessions gave me a method I now use to lead our governance programme, and the open-book practice made the exam far less daunting."

    Practical and Directly Applicable

"As an IT risk and compliance lead facing NIS2, the programme-management and roadmap parts were exactly what I needed. The trainer used realistic scenarios, and I passed first time. I would recommend it to anyone leading governance improvement in Denmark."

A Strong Step up from Foundation

"The continuous-improvement and benefits-realisation sessions changed how I think about governance as an architect. Well structured, well paced, and the mock questions mirrored the open-book format closely. A solid step up from Foundation."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 approach to plan and lead a governance improvement programme, covering the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement.

    General

What is COBIT 5 Implementation certification?

COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 approach to plan and lead a governance improvement programme, covering the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it for professionals in Denmark?

Yes. As NIS2, GDPR and DORA raise governance expectations, Danish employers in banking, life sciences, energy and the public sector value professionals who can lead improvement. IT governance managers average around kr 732,000 a year, with senior roles reaching higher.

    Who should take this certification?

It suits IT governance and GRC managers, IT risk and compliance leads, consultants, enterprise architects, and CIOs driving governance transformation. It is designed for practitioners who lead or support COBIT 5 improvement programmes rather than newcomers to the framework.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the credential is delivered through PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries. It is valued by employers in Denmark and worldwide for governance leadership, consulting and GRC roles.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5-I?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. Candidates who do not yet hold Foundation must take and pass it before sitting the Implementation exam, as Foundation knowledge of the principles, enablers and process reference model is assumed throughout.

    Pricing

What is included in the COBIT 5-I course fee?

The training fee typically includes aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams, first-attempt guidance, and learner support. An exam voucher is often bundled. Confirm the current inclusions when you request a quote.

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in Denmark?

Pricing varies by delivery format and whether the exam voucher is bundled, so we quote on request. Talk to a learning advisor for current Denmark pricing and any group or corporate rates.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

Many packages bundle the PeopleCert exam voucher with the training, but this varies. PeopleCert exam pricing also differs by region and channel. Ask us to confirm whether the exam is included in your package before you enrol.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer tailored corporate training with volume-based pricing for IT, risk and governance teams, delivered live virtual or onsite across Denmark. Contact us for a group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to request a quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5-I exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing exam with 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted during the exam.

How long is the exam and what is the pass mark?

You have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes). The pass mark is 50%, meaning 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Questions are scenario-based and require applying the implementation approach, not just locating text.

How and where is the exam delivered?

The exam is delivered through PeopleCert, either via OnVUE online proctoring, available 24/7, or at authorised test centres. You can sit it from home or office in Denmark once you are ready.

Which syllabus version does the exam follow?

The exam follows the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version), based on the COBIT 5 framework and the COBIT 5 Implementation Guide. Our courseware is aligned to this current syllabus.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert. Our training includes first-attempt guidance and scenario practice to prepare you thoroughly. Verify the current re-sit fee and policy with PeopleCert before rebooking.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5-I course cover?

It covers four areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle; change enablement; programme management; and continuous improvement. Each is taught at application level with Danish organisational scenarios.

What are the seven phases of the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle?

Phase 1: What are the drivers? Phase 2: Where are we now? Phase 3: Where do we want to be? Phase 4: What needs to be done? Phase 5: How do we get there? Phase 6: Did we get there? Phase 7: How do we keep the momentum going? It runs as a continuous cycle.

What is the COBIT 5 change enablement cycle?

It is a five-component cycle that runs alongside implementation: awareness and communication, desire and willingness, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement. It recognises that governance improvement is as much a people and culture challenge as a technical one.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation, which is the prerequisite, and Foundation-level knowledge is assumed. Beyond that, the course is built for practitioners who lead or support governance improvement, and trainers use guided scenarios to build applied capability.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive aligned courseware, industry case studies illustrating the lifecycle and change enablement, practice questions and mock exams, and open-book exam technique for navigating the two permitted reference books efficiently.

How do I enrol in the COBIT 5-I course?
