Governance Pressures Creating Demand in Czechia

    Regulatory Resilience Under DORA

DORA now requires Czech banks and insurers to prove IT operational resilience and vendor-risk control, exactly the governance discipline a COBIT 5 implementation programme delivers.

COBIT 5 builds governance and resilience skills

    NIS2 and Cyber Governance

The NIS2 directive extends security-governance obligations to more Czech organisations, driving demand for leaders who can embed governance controls, not just document them.

    COBIT 5 builds governance-control skills

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund digital-transformation programmes, but weak links between IT and strategy leak value. Certified governance leaders are increasingly hired to close that gap.

COBIT 5 builds prioritisation and value skills

    Shared-Services Complexity

Prague and Brno host large global capability centres running IT for many markets, demanding consistent, scalable governance across complex and multi-country estates.

COBIT 5 builds scalable governance skills

    Governance Talent Scarcity

Czechia's IT pool is deep in developers and project managers but thin in credentialed governance leaders, making COBIT 5 Implementation holders rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5 makes certified leaders stand out

    Continuous Improvement Demand

Enterprises want governance embedded as an ongoing discipline, not a one-off project, which is exactly what the COBIT 5 seven-phase lifecycle is designed to deliver.

    Your Czechia Career Transformation

From Framework Aware to Governance Leader in Czechia

    Your COBIT 5 Transformation

    After COBIT 5

IT audit and governance manager roles in Prague average Kč 1.2M to 1.5M, with senior bands higher

    After COBIT 5

Eligible for governance, GRC and IT audit roles across BFSI, telecom and consulting

    Today

Confident in delivery, but employers want governance-programme leadership

    After COBIT 5

Fluent in leading the seven-phase lifecycle and change enablement at scale

You earn your COBIT 5 Implementation

    Before

Governance authority depends on tenure, not a recognised credential

    Now you have

A globally recognised, PeopleCert-examined governance credential

    Before

Stuck at framework awareness with no implementation mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into governance improvement leadership roles

    Before

Delivery focused, with limited visibility of governance outcomes

    Now you have

The skills employers need: lifecycle, change enablement and continuous improvement

    Before

Recognition limited when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A credential that travels across Czech sectors and internationally

"The gap between running IT and governing it well is increasingly a recognised credential, and the Czech employers that matter already know it."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level certification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 approach to plan and lead a governance improvement programme, and it is designed for IT governance managers, GRC leads, IT auditors and consultants.

    General

What is COBIT 5 Implementation and who is it for?

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate-level certification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 approach to plan and lead a governance improvement programme, and it is designed for IT governance managers, GRC leads, IT auditors and consultants.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it for professionals in Czechia?

Yes. As DORA and NIS2 raise governance expectations, Czech employers in banking, telecom and shared services value leaders who can implement governance, not just describe it. Related roles such as IT audit and governance manager in Prague often command Kč 1.2M to 1.5M a year. Talk to a learning advisor about your path.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Implementation?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. Candidates who do not hold Foundation must take and pass it before sitting the Implementation exam. There is no formal work-experience requirement, though the level suits practitioners who lead or support governance improvement.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the Implementation credential is examined by PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries. It is valued for governance, consulting and GRC roles across Czechia and worldwide.

How does COBIT 5 Implementation differ from Foundation?

Foundation validates knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework at awareness level. Implementation goes further, testing your ability to apply the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement and programme management to realistic scenarios. Foundation is the prerequisite for Implementation.

Where does COBIT 5 Implementation sit in the scheme?

It is the second level, between Foundation and Assessor. Implementation builds on Foundation knowledge and is recommended before progressing to the advanced COBIT 5 Assessor level.

    Pricing

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in Czechia?

Fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Instructor-led and in-company options are quoted separately, and the PeopleCert exam fee may be bundled or billed on its own. Request a quote for current Czechia pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes syllabus-aligned courseware, case studies, mock exams, practice questions and learner support, plus first-attempt guidance for the exam. Confirm whether the exam voucher is included when you enrol.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

This varies by package. The PeopleCert COBIT 5 Implementation exam may be bundled with training or purchased separately, and pricing varies by region and channel. Ask a learning advisor to confirm what your package includes.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for IT, risk, audit and PMO teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective exam based on the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus, 2022 version. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted, and questions require scenario-based analysis.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The paper has 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total, and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. All four questions are scored.

What is the passing score for the exam?

You need 50%, that is 40 marks or more out of 80, to pass. Because the exam is scenario-based, focus on applying the lifecycle and change enablement rather than memorising content.

What topics does the exam cover?

Four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement.

How is the exam delivered in Czechia?

Through PeopleCert, either online with OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. You can sit it from home or office anywhere in Czechia.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam; the re-sit policy and fees are set by PeopleCert. Our training includes mock exams and first-attempt guidance to help you prepare thoroughly. Verify the current re-sit policy when you book.

    Course Content

You learn to plan and lead a governance improvement programme using the seven-phase COBIT 5 lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement, applied to realistic organisational scenarios.

Do I need Foundation or prior experience to take the course?

You should hold COBIT 5 Foundation, as its concepts are assumed and not re-taught. Beyond that, the course suits governance, risk, audit and PMO professionals; we can advise on Foundation if you need it first.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive syllabus-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and full mock exams, plus guidance on navigating the two permitted open-book references efficiently under timed conditions.

How long is the training and how is it delivered?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus, 2022 version, and the COBIT 5 Implementation Guide, covering all four topic areas at application level.
