    For Individuals

    For Individuals

COBIT 5-I training helps IT governance professionals move from framework awareness to hands-on delivery. The programme suits governance programme managers, GRC and IT risk leads, IT auditors and consultants who plan or support governance improvement. Whether you are leading a governance initiative in a Colombian bank, a global capability centre in Bogota, or a consulting engagement, the course builds the practical skills that senior governance roles expect.

If you already hold COBIT 5 Foundation and want to lead improvement rather than simply describe the framework, the Implementation credential is a clear next step. You gain a structured lifecycle, change and programme management technique, and a supported path to the exam.

    • Proves you can lead a COBIT 5 governance improvement programme end to end
    • Positions you for IT governance manager, GRC and IT audit leadership roles
    • Builds command of the seven-phase implementation lifecycle and goals cascade
    • Strengthens change enablement and stakeholder management capability

    For Organizations

    For Organizations

COBIT 5 Implementation group training equips governance, risk and PMO teams with a common method for planning and running improvement programmes. Delivery can be tailored for a business unit, a GRC function or a leadership group. For organisations under pressure to raise governance maturity, the training creates a shared language for prioritisation, change and continuous improvement.

If your teams can describe COBIT 5 but struggle to implement it, group training closes that gap. Staff learn to run the seven-phase lifecycle, embed practices, and sustain governance maturity long after a project ends.

    • Builds a shared, repeatable approach to governance improvement
    • Connects IT decisions to enterprise strategy through the goals cascade
    • Improves audit readiness and control maturity across teams
    • Standardises change enablement so governance changes actually stick
    • Develops in-house capability to self-assess and self-improve
    • Supports compliance with evolving Colombian regulatory expectations
    • Enables customised, role-based delivery for governance and PMO teams
    • Reduces reliance on external consultants for governance programmes

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate level in the COBIT 5 scheme, validating your ability to apply the COBIT 5 implementation approach to plan and manage a governance improvement programme. It covers the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement, and is examined by PeopleCert.

    General

What is COBIT 5 Implementation certification?

COBIT 5 Implementation is the intermediate level in the COBIT 5 scheme, validating your ability to apply the COBIT 5 implementation approach to plan and manage a governance improvement programme. It covers the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement, and is examined by PeopleCert.

Who should take COBIT 5 Implementation training in Colombia?

It suits IT governance programme managers, GRC and IT risk leads, IT auditors, consultants and CIOs who lead or support governance improvement. In Colombia it is especially relevant for banking, insurance, consulting and global capability centre professionals responding to tighter digital supervision.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it for my career?

Yes. It proves you can run governance improvement, not just describe the framework, which is what Colombian employers now seek. Governance leadership roles here range from GRC analyst bands into IT governance manager and director pay, and certified implementers remain scarce. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before Implementation?

Yes. COBIT 5 Foundation certification is the mandatory prerequisite. Candidates who do not hold Foundation must take and pass it before sitting the Implementation exam, as Foundation knowledge of the principles, enablers and process reference model is assumed throughout.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised in Colombia?

Yes. COBIT is the globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the Implementation credential is valued by employers in Colombia and worldwide for governance programme leadership, GRC and consulting roles. PeopleCert operates in over 200 countries.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective examination based on the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version). Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted, and questions require scenario-based analysis and judgment.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 4 questions, each worth 20 marks for 80 marks in total, and you have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. It is delivered online proctored through PeopleCert or at an authorised test centre.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50%, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because it is open book and scenario-based, deep method knowledge and efficient navigation of the permitted books both matter.

Which books are permitted in the open-book exam?

Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted. No other materials are allowed, so our training includes practice in navigating both efficiently under timed conditions.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam through PeopleCert. Our training includes mock exams, scenario practice and open-book technique to prepare you thoroughly for a first-time pass, and we support you with exam guidance. Verify the current re-sit policy at peoplecert.org.

    Course Content

What topics does COBIT 5 Implementation training cover?

The course covers four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all at application level using the COBIT 5 framework.

Which edition and syllabus is the course aligned to?

The training is based on the COBIT 5 framework and aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus, 2022 version, published by the global accreditation body for IT governance and examined by PeopleCert.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions and mock exams mapped to the 4-question, open-book format, helping you identify gaps and build readiness for the Implementation exam.

How long is the COBIT 5 Implementation training?

The instructor-led programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over two full days or four half-days. It covers all four Implementation topic areas and prepares you for the open-book exam.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation, which is the formal prerequisite. There is no mandatory work-experience requirement, though the Implementation level is designed for practitioners who lead or support governance improvement, and Foundation concepts are assumed rather than re-taught.
