Are there any prerequisites for the OBSF?

No. The Observability Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. Prior knowledge of DevOps concepts, CI/CD or monitoring is beneficial but not required to enrol or sit the exam.

How long is the OBSF certification valid?

The credential is valid for three years. To maintain it, you renew every three years by earning the required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education activities.

What is the format of the Observability Foundation exam?

The OBSF exam is open book with 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. It is delivered online proctored via PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorised test centre, based on the DevOps Institute Body of Knowledge.

What is the passing score for the OBSF exam?

The pass mark is 65 per cent, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly. Broad mastery across all six modules is the best way to prepare, and our mock exams help you gauge readiness.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and first-attempt guidance to reduce that risk. If a re-sit is needed, resit terms follow DevOps Institute policy; our team can guide you through rebooking through PeopleCert.
